I have tried both. The GTB is a very powerful ESC. However I have sold mine and went over to the Sphere Competition. The Sphere competition is easy to set, and is smaller and lighter as compared with the GTB. The only reason why I switched was because of the size and weight.

I would say you would be happy with either one.

I would say this:
Reedy has been making electric motors for a long time

Novak, not so much

I currently have a Novak GTB with a 5800 and 5.5 velocity motor. I am very happy with the system. I have not had a chance to use the LRP equivilent, but I have used Novak products for quite some time and have always found their products to be of the highest quality backed by excellent customer service.

I say it like this, the "Reedy" is a rebadged LRP
Go with the LRP Sphere Comp / Vector combo, ive run it for a quite time and it performs flawless.

Reedy is indeed a rebadged LRP.... anyway, here in Europe customer service is OK for LRPs...

I have a novak and I'm happy with it, for me is much cheaper to buy stuff overseas than here , so that's why I have the Novak. However, it has failed and sending it back to USA and wait for getting it back is not so wise... (a month and shipping expenses) think about support wherever you are when taking your decision

Firstly - i run Novak. I have a GTB 5.5R, and used to run a ss5800 too.
I don't have any particular allegiance to either LRP or Novak as in Australia they're both expensive! LoL...

But i have had a good experience with Novak. There are horror stories on both sides of the fence. But the reason i went with Novak was that they seem to be on the ball with development. I don't have the luxury of sending stuff back on warrantee so either system was a risk. But, being that Novak has the 4.5 out and a 3.5 in the works is nice.

That's the only thing seperating the two for me..
If anything, the one best reason for buying Novak is Charlie! Novak customer service rocks. They gotta pay that man more...
The number of posts praising Novak CS. good job.

That's for sure. Charlie is a really nice guy.... actually I've asked myself many times if Charlie is only one guy or the whole Novak tech support!!! I don't know how many people talks with him, but surely he answers all!!!

Hi there, i run the Sphere Competition adn the 4star combo, so far i have been quite impressed with it, however i have also driven a car with a novak 5.5 in, and i do prefer my LRP, i think that the LRP is so simple to set up and makes life easy!! go 4 the LRP

I drive a GTB 5.5 and I have found it to be reliable, easy to use, and wicked fast . It has alot of adjustable settings to make it perform exactly how you like it to, and I know that I don't have to worry about overheating it or anything because it has thermal overload protection in the esc and the motor. and the GTB esc can handle a hotter BL motor than the sphere. which means that if you got the GTB, you could run the "neo" motor if you want, or the 5.5/4.5 motors (whereas you would not be able to run the 5.5 and 4.5 motors with the shpere.) not to mention that it is a little less expensive.

you could always get the sphere comp, because it can handle hotter BL motors, but then I think that you would be without reverse. Just my opinion. I would think that both of them are good BL systems, so it's all about whether you like blue, or orange . I chose orange, and I am very happy with it.
