I'd prefer finding a better way to build a track without flappers and without sections a rc car can get under rather than beefing up the car to run in a derby, thereby slowing down performance. Accidents will happen regardless and there is no way to fully bulletproof any rc car for that matter: I've tried and only got slower and slower...

I'd get dizzy very quick oval racing, and send my car in the pits...lol...Not that I haven't done that before racing touring cars...lol...

We have run to cars on the oval track at Apex, it was a blast. I need to get a race together for that, it would be fun!
Such a blast but the cars were so fragile you clip the outter wall the front would almost explode lol. |

https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...fb334072d2.jpg Excelerate tires are very light on both rims, raid and excelerate... https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...aa49e626df.jpg |
Those of you running a ball diff on the P F1 car — Would you mind sharing the parts you used, or your setup? A photo would be amazing.
I just want to measure twice and buy once. TY! |
Maybe the Roche ball diff will fit...It might have a slightly longer tube for a bit more left side support...
|
Anyone have a good starting point for a asphalt setup?

Casey Belarde would you mind taking a photo for me, along with the "full width" measurement there? It would be super helpful. Trying to find a readily available ball diff for outdoor use.
|
Xray ball diff works too but $$$$$$$....
|
bertrandsv87 are we all sure that it meets the clearance requirements? AKA maximum vehicle width? It looks the same as the Exotek, or others.
Due to the offset of the Prodigy, I believe it needs a very shallow/narrow diff to meet the 190mm width max. |
Correct...It will need to be measured with the rear tires on for that 190mm exact width, but different tires will yield different rear track widths after centering the rear axle. Most clubs won't turn racers away because of a few more millimeters that can be corrected with different offset tires...My excelerate f1 was 190mm F&R with sweep tires and went down to 182mm fronts and 189mm rears with excelerate tires, all stock shims used...It probably will not matter much if the ball diff side of other brands is 2 to 3mm wider than the excelerate F1 gear diff...
