Easy Nash...Ya still Da' Man. Just my observations. I'm coming back next year even if we are hand counting the races And I'll get that darn Eli eventually

All entry fees without motor.

Maybe upping entry fees can help cover the cost of an upgraded track.

I'm not sure who came up with $10,000 but they were just a LITTLE off. I believe your track is 8 feet narrower now it would be $2622 for your track w/tax.

A few searches and I found it at low as $16 a sheet. so it would be
$2517.12 for a 96 x 48 track or $2097.60 for your current track w/tax.

Now you can also cut the carpet when you are done the size of the boards and the wood could be flipped over for the next year if its tongue and groove which is what I figured up. Taking the $2097.60 / 2 = $1048.80

So for $1048.80 you could have glued carpet every year and a new subfloor every two years. And most importantly a lot more happy racers.

The Jumps in the carpet were pretty bad and claimed many t-bars in 12th scales and touring parts. If you guys don't do something drastic for next year you will have to let each person run 8 classes to fill the race because you will lose half your racers.

The champs is a great race, but my offroad track at my hobby shop is smoother than cleveland was this year.

I think $1048.80 isn't too much to ask to ensure that your race keeps racers coming back and enjoying the champs.

Floor for thought
you are right and wrong I'll explain a little one your not counting the boards under the subfloor or the carpet which is how it is thought of.normally unlike this year we usually sell the carpet at the end of the race it recover some of the cost which believe isn't cheap by any means. That being said we are still looking into it but believe between the carpet and boards we are looking at around 10,000.now the only problem with what you are talking is I don't think boards would be flat enough when they are flipped but we very well might try something like that if it will work. Also keep in mind we are not saying we are not going to glue down next year or not we more then likely will but we are looking into ways to make cheaper is all.like talking to home depot to maybe help us out a little is all nothing wrong with that.

we really don't want to raise rates unless it's the only way.We don't want to charge you a ton.But we do want to have a good track also which is why we are trying to get some outside help with the cost of the floor instead you the racer paying for it

1- The drivers meeting was a JOKE!!! All was done was thank the sponsors. Thats great and all. But there should have had some info on how tech was gonna run. What was actually gonna be teched. How the breaks were going to be taken between classes. Where the RIGHT spot was for you to marshall. Things like that.

2- The breaks for guys to switch over from 19t to mod TC were not needed. YOU HAD 3 CLASSES OF 1/12th scales. There is no need to "STOP" the program for 20-30 mins every round, when you have races that can be ran. Run Stk. 1/12th between 19t and Mod. TC's???? Who says you have to run all of the TC's together and all of the 1/12ths together. Make it so the program runs smooth.

3-I got the feeling all week that, well this race has been here for 27 yrs, no matter what we do you will come back next year......

4- There was no mention of the "pizza party" all week until what about an hour before it started, again prob. could have been mentioned in the drivers meeting.

5- WHY RUN ALL OF THE MAINS AT THE END OF THE DAY ON SUN.??? Again you had to "STOP" the program for guys running back to back. I know I had an 8hr. ride home and work on Mon. That time would have been nice to have had to leave that much earlier.

Maybe they will listen the racers and use this to only make it better, its up to the race director now....
I will answer this point by point
1.couldn't agree more
2.yes and no alot people complained there wasn't enough time so I guess you can't please everyone just do the best you can.
3.yes it will and hopefully everyone will feel it's a improvement we can't fix what happened only try correct it.
4.again couldn't agree more
5.tradition mainly alot of people like all the A's at the end of the day.I like it personally but that's just my feelings.

If nobody up that way wants to do it, send the crap to me and I will fix it.

I also vote to replace the webcams with the live timing screen from liverc.com for the closed-circuit TV. All you can see is blurry dots moving around the track anyway. Can't actually watch the races...
I couldn't agree more I keep the program running and it drives everyone nuts if you can fix it for real then please please drop me an email at [email protected] and we will talk.I am not a programer I can do something mainly php, html stuff, fix hardware related problems but I pretty much just learned stuff over time if you want i'll send you my phone number and we can go about that way if that works better.

the web cams where well liked but if everyone doesn't like we can get rid of it then put up the race screen but alot of people like to know how long it will be till they are up so a new program is in order.

Sorry about the replies in I don't want anyone to think I am not listening but my computer needs a video card keeps rebooting so it's hard to get on here. But guys we do what can and try to make better and better and not more and more expensive given it happens sometimes. That we being we want what you guys want and we do our best to get it done.We listened last year we will listen this year and every year forward now I can't say everything that everyone wants will happen sorry but you can believe we will try.I hope you can understand that.

Since there are the same number of 1/12th classes and 1/10th classes, alternate them. Then there might be back to back drivers in the mains, but never with the same chassis.

And to space out the mains, I would run the B right before the A. Sometimes the B's are better than the A's. Then all those #$%^ that made the B and didn't race might actually race their main.

I could write the On Screen schedule program if they want me to.

P.S. Stormer - I used to sponsor Barry, but when he comes up for the Novak race there will be trouble

Between RC Scoring Pro and LiveRC, we could probably add a time table really easily... we already have the race order, heat length, etc etc, so adding something to calculate a time table would be pretty trivial. We could do this for next year...

Thanks to everyone that made my first Cleveland experiece a fun one! That carpet track had waaaaay more traction than the carpet i practiced on so my cars werent up to par. It was also fun to cover this race. Look for it in the March issue of RCCA. There's a small article posted on it on the RCCA website for now. Thanks! Joel
