Isn't it Carissa Figelski, not Clarissa. Anyone that makes the A-main at Cleveland deserves to have their name correct in the press!

Actually, I was talking to Mr. Bill and Scotty Ernst (from Wisconsin) last weekend about how he did his track in Vegas. So, it'll all be taken care of for next year. They use the same wood as what's used in speaker cabinets. It's solid, smooth and doesn't warp! I think it's called MDX?

i understand the wood thing there were 2 or 3 bad bumps due to the wood. The main prob was the carpet wasnt glued so when a marshal goes out on the track the carpet moved and stretched. Vegas doesnt have this prob due to the fact they glue it right to the subfloor. Granted the floor is ruined and so is the carpet but sometimes that the price to pay to have people come back to your race next year. Carpet issue has to be fixed for next year.

Its MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) and available everywhere. It does do funny things if it gets wet

I agree with that part of the problem we had this year was not so great carpet also that didn't help either. It was messed up when we opened it and it wouldn't lay right either.normal it's taped with 8 inch wide tape all way around and in the center that usually does a decent job.The main problem we would have to use glue is we would have to find some place to donate the subfloor because it would have to be cut up and thrown away and if I am not mistaken it costs about 10,000 for the current size and amount of boards we have.Given we replace boards every year but not all of them.So basicly if we can get home depot or lowes or some place like that involved then it's very possible to do.

Thanks for the words. I'd love to get $14g, but its all yours for $12g as it sits. OBO

Keep me posted.

Thanks for the help this weekend too, I'm sure I'll run into you again

I don't know how many of you get over to http://www.kimihiko-yano.net/ site but I like the picture that he posted from my site. let's just say Mo didn't like the bumps.

tongue and groove 3/4" OSB 4 x 8 sheets even at $20 a sheet which is high from home depot comes out to $2880 + tax = just under $3150 for a 96 x 48 foot track. I'm not sure who came up with $10,000 but they were just a LITTLE off. I believe your track is 8 feet narrower now it would be $2622 for your track w/tax.

A few searches and I found it at low as $16 a sheet. so it would be
$2517.12 for a 96 x 48 track or $2097.60 for your current track w/tax.

Now you can also cut the carpet when you are done the size of the boards and the wood could be flipped over for the next year if its tongue and groove which is what I figured up. Taking the $2097.60 / 2 = $1048.80

So for $1048.80 you could have glued carpet every year and a new subfloor every two years. And most importantly a lot more happy racers.

The Jumps in the carpet were pretty bad and claimed many t-bars in 12th scales and touring parts. If you guys don't do something drastic for next year you will have to let each person run 8 classes to fill the race because you will lose half your racers.

The champs is a great race, but my offroad track at my hobby shop is smoother than cleveland was this year.

I think $1048.80 isn't too much to ask to ensure that your race keeps racers coming back and enjoying the champs.

Floor for thought
