Thanks! Do you mean this? Manual obviously shows Tamiya servo saver and I have not measured how thick that is. I looked more at what they were running on factory cars at TITC as an initial starting point. I will try different amount of spacers at some stage like I have sone on previous cars.

It perhaps looks more extreme than it is on that photo as well. Here is another angle.

In the car right now is an Arrowmax spur. During build I used Axon, but wanted to run a smaller spur and this is what I had.

Yes. I set my link to the rack so that it is parallel to the tie rod at full turn. Set my spacers accordingly. Yours might be right just need to see its position at full turn also set horn 90* to link. (But I think you already know that)

It's something I have played around with on previous cars and I preferred it like you mention on the 420X, so I might well end up liking that setup most on this car as well. Time will tell.

Had a fun night with the gang. Comparing my 421 with the MI9 and X4 24 that my friends had. All in USGT setup. Also had another 421 out there in TCS GT1 trim.

The 421 surprised me even running the carbon chassis on black carpet, it is a really good car. I stole my extra RC maker shoulder screws to have full stiffness on the split deck. Running Xray springs though, I'll have to try the other Tamiya springs later.

Dan, any issues w/ gearing for 21.5? Any idea on the largest pinion you can fit? I plan to run mine in 21.5TC. Got my spares today, still waiting on the car from RCMart .

Building mine now hear in the states , using the new 1up Racing titanium screw kit ! It’s building nicely it’s the best Tamiya build I have ever done for the accuracy of the sway bars , for me I needed to sand the blades a bit for the outdrives , and I needed to polish the ball studs on top of the bulkhead to mount the upper a arms

You should be okay if you use the split deck, not sure on the single deck, have not tried. With 86/49, my motor is on the far right end of the slot and pinion is kinda close to touching the split deck. If it becomes an issue, you can probably shave some of the upper deck for more clearance if the motor is further left on the slot. (rearward)

On belted USGT tires for carpet, I used Xray 2.5-2.8 progressive on front and 2.6 in the rear. I am at 425cst but feel its a little on the thick side. I think 350-400cst is the range you want to be in. I'm going to try 400cst next.

I never liked the green (softest) springs for carpet (on TA07RR). I will need to test the stiffer SSBB Tamiya springs for when I have the car setup in GT1 rules with Tamiya slicks.

Haa anybody tried it on high grip carpet yet?

I'll be taking mine on Friday, more or less kit setup, with xray 2.6 rears and 2.5-2.8 fronts.
