M-Chassis Bodies for Racing
 

In New Zealand we are not limited by what body we run in the national M-Chassis class. "Only body shells (from any manufacturer) specifically designed for M-Chassis with wheelbase of 210, 225, and 239 mm can be used." are the exact words used in the rule book.

I run on a somewhat medium grip asphalt surface that is wide and open and big (big as in for a tiny little M-Chassis car). M07's are the fastest cars around and so that is also the car I drive. M08's are slower. 2WD Tamiya cars permitted only.

My current setup runs a Bittydesign HC-M and I consistently get at least a podium finish pretty much every race and qualifying. 1st is not a surprise in other words. The field is very, very competitive though. So I know that the HC-M is fast.

The predicament I have is this: the HC-M is "running out" of life. It's got a fair amount of bruises and needs to be retired. Two other guys at the local track run Slidelogy "D9"'s I think they are called. And those two would be those who could potential drop my position out of a gold or silver or even a bronze finish. So I know that the D9 is fast as well.

For (I would say front grip is most important) my case does anyone have any experience or advise or even other body recommendations (note that some sort of rear wing is absolutely required otherwise the car will end up violently crashing and tearing apart your RC racer honor)?

If all you care about is performance, any of the TC style bodies will do the job. Bitty Hyper-M or Blitz TCN would be on my shortlist. But there are plenty of hatch style bodies that are plenty fast, like the Ride BRZ, Bitty Hiberya-M, Blitz YRS-M.

Looking at stock in this country, bodies that are looking good are the Blitz YRS-M and the Slidelogy D9. Of those I think the D9 is a more performance based shell whereas the YRS-M is focused towards the idea of running a FWD body on a FWD car. However, with the D9, I'm scared that perhaps the bulky front end of the M07 wont allow the body to clear at a more standard "race cut" trimming (as in scissor line on or even above the marked cut line). Does anyone know if this is the case?

I've been looking at the Xpress Mini Racer also. It is a 210 mm body but looking like 225 is quite achievable. Is that a fast body and can it be adapted to fit a 225 mm M07 (it's looking very sleek at the front as well)?

I could go to rcMart for a bit more variety but the shipping is so expensive from overseas.
