Zigzag, run lighter oil in your car than stock... Try 30 or 25 wt oil (all around on your car)... will make a world of a difference..

zigzagRC-If the rear end is loose coming out of the corner you could try increasing rear toe out from 2 to 3 degrees per side. If the car pushes mid corner you could try increasing caster by 2 degrees by using the 2 degree caster blocks along with your 2 degrees of kickup. Moving the top of the front shock one hole in will give you more steering traction mid corner but might make the problem exiting the corner worse.

cool thanks man, i'll definatly try the castor blocks, what are the advantges of them? also what would a lighter weight oil do to the car in the corners? i need to get a little more cornering speed out of the thing, if i used lighter oil would i have to compensate with a higher spring rate?

Cristian,

Are you and Barry running the same setup as last year for the Tamiya and Worlds race? If not, could you post the setup somewhere.

Also are you planning on attending the Nats in June located in NC?

Thanks,
Mark

Play with IRS Gear Adaptor

spaz456, I have the IRS gear adaptor and also noticed this. So did the stub axle washers remove this play completly. I haven't noticed it affecting my cars performance though, have you? Will have to give that a try tonight, it is race night.

Later,

munrath,
barrys setup is on team associated website... its almost indentical to the one he was using at reflex ... the only difference i can think of was he changed his oil to 25 all around and took off the rear sway bar for his mains. I might not be right about the oil although i did see him redo all of his shocks.

Crash-i used 2 stub axle washers and it seemed to removed alot of, but not all of, the play. it seems much better with this.

ZigZagRC-The caster blocks will increase midcorner steering traction. Caster improves front traction when the car is rolled over the most in a turn and also when there is maximum steering angle; this is mid corner. More caster will decrease initial turn in because the car is not rolled over much initially. Try the lower shock oil with the same springs. If the car lacks precision in its high speed steering then go to stiffer springs.
