Hey peeps,
I will be competing in the 2006 nationalhampionships and im going from where i live in perth, i will be gettign a new t2, futaba 3pk and iwas wondering if i should run a gtb 4.5r brushless or use my gtx and run a 7x1 or 8x1 because it is a fairly big track...put it this way its a 1/8 gas car track.

Hi Jamie,

I think the GTB/4.5 is a good choice. You'll have plenty of horsepower and be able to spend more time focussing on your car setup without having to try and tune and maintain the motors.

I have moved from brushed to brushless (also the Novak 4.5/GTB system) and I'll be running that at Brendale in November as well. I think the 4.5 will give you all the straightline you need - and no maintenance.

If you have room, and you already have the gtx/7*1 then you can always bring them as well. Personally, I'll be showing up just with the gtb/4.5.

Look forward to seeing you there.

Cheers
Scott

I think the 4.5 would right for Brendale if not a bit too much (I don't really no as I haven't run there since going to brushless). Since going to brushless I wouldn't go back. If you get one you'll wonder why you ever ran brushed motors.
Drew.

I'm running a T2 and I'm only running a cheap servo that would be worth getting for the nats.
Drew.

I'm running a schumacher mi2-ec so probably won't be much help on car setup. I run a Futaba S9402 servo. For the gtb/4.5 combo at brendale I would start with gearing around 9.5 or 9.8:1 and adjust either way from there.

If not before, then early in July there is a "winter championships" at brendale which will function as a kind of a warm-up for the nats. I'll probably/possibly run at that event and can let you know how the 4.5/gtb combo works out + gear ratios etc. All our setup info etc (including brendale) is on our website.

Entry forms won't be out for a while yet. Keep an eye on this thread in the Australian forum. That's also a good place to ask for info on the track and the event. I would expect entry forms maybe August or September.

Run the GTB / 4.5 Brushless, you won't regret it.
