PVC is a little too slippery to be used as a drift tire. They do work, but the car speed is extremely slow and contorl is sketchy at best.
Much better is a slightly different type of plastic piping called ABS. This is softer and gives you better bite whilst still breaking into a slide very easily.

You should be able to find pipe with a similar ID to the dia of your touring rims.. just slide them on (chuck some electrical tape on the rims to increase the "hold" if needed) and you will be able to slide them off when worn..

There is a drift thread already so check that out...

or visit www.rc-d1.com for more info

(Rc-D1.com is a Melbourne, Australia based drift club. There are lots of posts on car setup and tires there. )

i heard yokomo drift tires are the same as abs piping as when it comes to grip

what i would do if you want speed at still be able to drift is a 17*2 motor and stage d drift tires from hpi

it depends on the speed of the motor but stick with yokomo cause its easier to drift with them because of the plastic

also when the plastic runs out all you have to do is swap them for new ones...no buying new tires like pvc
