Looking for a new car, and i've searched the forums only to see that the Pro-3 has gotten less than favorable reviews from the racers. BUT, i will not be racing but rather just tooling around in parking lots. I did see some posts that said the Pro-3 was very good for slippery parking lot asphalt. So i guess my question would be which of these two kits is better for the average parking lot, and not for the professional tracks? I've enjoyed building both (i've built tamiya, associated, hpi and losi before) and I've always been impressed with quality and engineering of both of these.
Sorry if I'm beating a dead horse, i just thought my situation might be a little different. Thanks.

If your gonna race at all, on any surface, then there is absolutely no comparison between the two. However, if your just gonna be bashing around, you can get the pro3 new for about $100 which is no comparison to the $270 losi... Just depends on what your gonna do with it. Both cars are very durable too.

i own both of these cars & i like both of them. both are easy to drive for parking lot races, not sure about carpet or treated tracks. i never had a problem with either of them. i like the layout for the hpi pro3 with the battery centerline & i love the idea of a sealed drivetrain for the losi xxx-s. both cars were easy to build & easy to run, each has easy access to electronics (if you get the hpi pro3, i would suggest a prp top deck). each cars has its faults but its up to you how you want to handle it. sorry i couldn't make a decision for you, i was at the same crossroad too, so i bought them both.

I would have to reccommend the XXX-S because it comes with all the good stuff in the box and can be easily set-up for different track conditions right out of the box. The HPI can be a competitive car, but there are more parts to buy to make it fast. I've heard it is a good parking lot racing car though.

xxxs is good but takes a while to setup. much faster than pro3
pro 3 , hmm ok but very flexible
i would personally go for the xxxs i have driven both and the xxxs seems to be much better than the pro3. faster, and has better cornering

get the losi its seald drive train is good for a unprepared track and if yuo ever go out and race you already have the best touring car chassie out there today. i own one. some of my other faster driving friends own tamiya 414m2's i like the losi good car..

I would go for the losi because of the sealed belt drive, you could pick up the standard version for about $125

I personaly would say both cars are just as capable when fully upgraded, but the difference is you can get the Losi in that condition out of the box for $270, but the Pro3 costs like $500 or more in hop ups to get it close to what the Losi comes with out of the box. Also with any HPI kit when you break something, you usualy end up having to buy the part you break along with a parts tree of stuff that you never will break, so you end up buying like $7 worth of parts and you might as well throw away $5 of em every time you crash.

I would not say that the losi's front end is week. I found it to be very durable even before they're new bumper.

Check out your local support.... one broken part and waiting for months....

If the prices are 100$ for the Pro3 and 125$ for XXX's, I would take the XXX's. Primarily due to the sealed drivetrain.

But if you dont want to work with the setup more than nessecarily, the Pro3 would probably be a better choise, since it's easy to setup due to the flexible chassis.
