For the antenna tube holder, correct?

The D washers weren't included in my kit and I wish they would have been. They could have kept the antenna tube parts...

first time to put up a Schumacher's, the instruction is clear which the bags is by steps, except
1. to jump step to get the antenna holder from other step
2. 1 shortness of a 3 x 14mm grub screw, not experienced in others so far (luckily my longest grub screw 3 x 10 is ok)
other than that, it was nice experience to put it up.

no complaint for above, just experience.

Hi guys,
Question on the front end:
- damping: from the moment I put oil (12K) in the kingpins as per instructions, it eventually runs down and causes the steering blocks to stick to the bottom. Fairly normal off course since the steering block goes over after you put the oil in so any excess or the amount you smeared out over the kingpin will be taken down when you put the steering block in. Anybody got a tip on how to do this?
- Wrt droop, manual (Eclipse 4) states a starting point is 3 shims. but with 1 shim I get around 0.5mm droop, 2 springs is 0 droop and 3 is preload on the springs... whats the advice here? I always ran 0.5mm droop in my old 1/12's so I tend to run 1 shim.

Any other tips for the front?

Thanks,
Dirk

I put the steering blocks on the kingpin, and then I pour oil in the kingpins until it's more or less full. That is enough oil by far. I usually clean up and refresh after a day on track, depending a bit on what oil is in there. If I run something less than 10k, I might do a refresh after 5 runs or so. Haven't really worried or thought about sticking, or noticed it, for that matter.

As per droop we nearly always use just one shim. on the Eclipse 5 I haven't tried anything else to be honest.

sorry for asking stupid question, how inserting in position C can change the ride height please?
would it just shortening the steering block upwards travel?

Not a stupid question! 😊

It will add preload to the spring, so as long as you still have some droop when on the ground, adding shims will remove droop and heighten the car via preload to the spring.

Ollie and Michal are on it through todays Practice! Ollie set the fastest lap of the day on his FIRST lap of practice 2! I am currently ranked last, even if I am halfway around the world from Florida🤣🤣

Looks like the track is not as fast as during the Worlds warmup. Ollie Payne ran a good bit faster then (same track layout).

Only thing I could see in some ones E5 picture was no camber strap.
It looked like they were using a brace mounted to the top plate.

Welcome to America black carpet where our rear bite comes up before the front lol.
