This car needs a thread. I somewhat dismissed it initial but looking more closely, it's quite interesting.




Note the below chassis motor position and ultra low RC... and it's slammed.

Having a eclipse 4 I really like the full length chassis. Only thing about this car is going to be waiting for a black carpet version. But I think it’s onto something!

Very easy kit to put together (not really a “build”). I ordered mine from Zen and shipping was 6 days to the West Coast of Canada. Paul at Zen was very helpful and interested in getting this car out to the masses. I haven’t run mine yet but it looks like the perfect beginner 1/12th car.

An aluminum chassis is coming but the designer laughs about it saying its not necessary.

I agree. Although I like aluminium chassis plates for a few reasons, I don't believe we actually need them for 12th scale. No harm in having the option of course.

it may not me necessary. But the car is so light with the carbon. Might as well go aluminum chassis to add weight as low as possible.

Got to run my DTY-12 today and the car worked very well. Did not change anything throughout the day just to see how the car would react as the grip increased. It was consistent all day with no issues as the grip came up, next week I will be tweaking the setup. As you can see I have an Xray front end on my car. The chassis is from Krazed Builds, I had it made because I was not happy with the kit front end. Additionally when I attend races, this front end makes it easier for me to get parts at the track if I need it instead of carrying extra. So if you’re interested hit up Krazed builds for one, for me it’s worth the investment.

This is awesome. I contacted krazed and have an aluminum chassing on the way. Coming from an xray to the dty i naturally prefer the xray front end just from the ease of working on. I dislike e clips with the passion. I have been running the car for a few weeks now. Stock setup handles great. A little too stuck, in the track for my liking. But a little stiffer spring setup rear and sides woke the car up.

Ran my stock DTY-12 Saturday night. Pretty much the manual set-up on medium traction black carpet. Car was fast and took a beating. I'll try stiffening things up a little and see what happens. Runs great out of the box
though. My set-up sheet is on the DTY Facebook page.

These new steel ULP screws are a welcome standard feature on the DTY.
