Default which foams do what

i was wondering if you guys could tell me which foam tyres chunk or don't chunk and which tyres grip better.
i have used ellegi foams and ufra foams and have been told that ufra's will chunk if you hit things, well i have hit things and they didnt chunk. and the ellegi's wel, as far as i can see they are by far the best tyre out there BUT i would like to get your views please
thanx

All foams chunk. If you crash and the tyres rub the body you get long slicing chunks, if they just fly off by themselfs you get round looking chunks. I only run foams on carpet, so if thats what your running on too, pretty much everyone runs Plaid fronts, and purple rears for TC, and Purple front and grey rears on 1/12 no matter where you go.

yup! cyclonus is right. jaco or trc purple rear, plaid (orange/purple) front for touring cars. i'd assume the statement regarding 1/12th is true as well. all foams chunk. foam is foam and it will chunk. buy the tires that perform the best on the track. rounding helps a ton, and there are tricks to body cutting and mounting that minimize chunking as well.

Yes on the chunking, I have run ellegi, Jacco, TRC, Treadz, Speedmind, Murdock tires. All will chunk. Put ca on the edges and this will slow down the cunking. I disagree on the plaids. I hate them. I run 42F & 40R speedmind. Also have TRC purple front and magenta rears. Durometer #'s for the above are 37 & 40.

1/12 run foams exculsively, making this topic also worth talking about for the 1/12 scale racers as well.

Why not? It's a decent sized class, it runs foams and it kicks TC butt! (so does 1/10th pan. . . )

i think ufras wear longer with the same grip, however the ellegi rims are deffinately stiffer and i hear stronger. ellegi is alot cheaper aswell(atleast in aus) also i dont really dig that flouro yellow look of the ufras. i guess its up to you but i run the ufras myself.
