Schotky diode

another quick reminder please,
the silver stripped end is negative on the diode and the high voltage power caps right?
cheers

Not only you made then kinda of mistakes...

Even Extreme RC made that mistake on the previous issue. They've made corrections to it on their website soon after...

So be careful....I've blow a couple in my early days of RC... Makes a nice Poppin sound.

How important are these really? Supposedly they protect the ESC. Has anyone burned up an ESC because they did not have one installed on a stock motor?

If they are there to protect the ESC why can't they be installed on the wire from near the ESC instead of installing one on each motor?

they can, thats where ive installed mine to, just solder it onto the underside of the wire linkages if you have the modern style speedo ie QC1/2/3 or the KO's... ie twisters etc...

Perhaps less radio interference if the schottky diode is installed closest to the motor.

Only use one if you use a speedy WITHOUT a reverse. It protects the speedo for strong currents under braking.
And close to the speedo is no problem.
