They have had this for a while. Boca actually sells a 99 cent bearing display for hobby dealers. It coveres most of the common sized bearings in the r/c cars and such. They are rubber sealed most of the time (smaller bearings are metal sheilded) and work fairly well.

don't forget about AVID bearings. they are always a buck a bearing. the revalations ahve a rubber sealed on one side and is metal shielded. great quality at a very cheap and affordable price.

if you notice they are the ABEC#1 rating which is the worse that you can get. the higher the better which is why the same ABEC#5 bearing is $8.95 I have seen a rating of ABEC#7 on some bearings that I bought for my 12th scale don't remember what I paid for them though.

these are good for the backyard player but would be worth my money for club races.

Is that the final word, that these are not good enough for racing?

Can Boca's rubber seal bearings be used in place of teflon sealed on buggy axles? What lube would you use on rubber sealed bearings on a buggy?

They are just very poor quality bearings...not worth $1.00 a piece IMO.
I's rather use teflon sealed over rubber. The seals may not last as long but they offer less resistance and keep the dirt out just as well IMO. They may require a little more maintenance in the long run!

checkpoint offers a grade 7 bearing kit for their mod motors. It's like $34.95 list for two bearings.

A buddy of mine from Michigan purchased for resale a "perfect" RC car bearing. They have very high grade ceramic ball bearing in them and the races tolerances are larger which allows them to pass carpet fibers and bits of foam and dirt without binding up the bearings. I got a full set for my 12th scale at the Grand Finale and you can actually balance your fronts via how big of a compound sticker you put on them now I dont know his prices per se as we traded, but he said he'll beat any ceramic bearing price.

Looser tolerances are good for RC car bearings, maybe not inside nitro motor, etc, but definately for wheel bearings, layshafts, etc.

btw-I use the term perfect loosely. If anyone wants his e-mail-PM me.
