so the deck doesnt move around at all under twisting and so on. the screws in the top deck are regular button heads.

mine is still all standard, chassis, deck, button screws, the lot, and I never have any problems. it will only tweak slightly on a big hit, i just loosen the top deck, hold her flat then tighten again, and away I go.

i love my T2

this thread is going off topic!

My prediction is: Yes Tamiya is working on a new car, but it would be 4cells TC. The reason behind this prediction:

1. JMRCA already change their EP rule to go 4cells from the begining of 06.
2. Tamiya is JP origin company, it's very nature for them to develope a new car to meet new 4cells rule
3. IFMAR ISTC WC is just few months away, new design will not have enough time for field-testing.
4. Next IFMAR ISTC WC is on 2008, 2years away from now, the new design would have enough time for field-testing.
5. I believe IFMAR will sooner or later follow JMRCA's 4cells rule, before next IFMAR ISTC WC.
6. 4cells IMO is the first step to allow LiPo as the pack size and weight are similar.
7. LiPo will be legal sooner or later, just like brushless did.
8. 4cells and LiPo means a whole new era of EP racing, whole new design is needed for that.
=> New TC is for 4cells, with capability to use LiPo

It's a wild prediction, but I do hope it will go as I said. We have brushless legaled now, time to moveon on battery tech, 4cells first, than LiPo.

How on earth do you think that 4 cell and lipo will be allowed to race against each other?

Yes if you have worked it out about being the same weight but the voltage output is very different.

4 Cell NIMH 4.8V
2 Cell LIPO 7.4V
1 Cell LIPO 3.6V

And with the Orion/Peak Lipo battery at the moment it is designed to fit in a 6 Cell based car. (Everything but a LOSI JRXS)

Interesting to see how you came to that conclusion

I didn't say 4cells will be race against LiPo. I only suggest 4cells is reasonable first step before we move to LiPo.

The main issue is not one votage, but the size and weight of battery pack. It will decide the chassis layout and weight placement. Size and weight is the key var on chassis design, not votage.

Moving 6cells directly to LiPo is a much big risk for company. Moving to 4cells first, get the chassis design ready, than under the same weight/size placement, go LiPo, is much reasonable progress IMO. Something need to be done first before we move on new battery tech.

I won't surprise if future rule stats 2c LiPo 7.4V, weight 1350g. And I don't believe such rule will make TC any slower than nowday, if not getting faster. Remember, 1350g 4cells TC is just a bit slower than nowday, JMRCA did it already.

i just hope that the future will brin brush motors not brushless because i think itīs part of the sport devoloping and tuning your own motors. and then i hope the future will bring li-po races on 10 minutes
