I went to Thunderdome on a Wednesday night, and there were close to 20 GT12's. Then, I raced at Hobbytown St Charles that Friday, and there were almost as many GT12'S, and I think I was the only person who did both! So close to 40-50 GT12 racers in Chicagoland. Pretty cool. We usually get between 10-15 here in Minneapolis.
At the track I normally race, in addition to the black endbell, we also run fixed gearing, ball diff (no spools), 730g minimum weight, and only 4 body options allowed. It was interesting to travel to some tracks where the rules are completely different. Honestly, it didn't make much difference. Great, close racing at both.

It's our penance for "the incident."
I...don't make the rules. I just drive the cars.
There is no reason to spec the gearing. Driving style and slight inconsistencies between motors should allow for open gearing. We hae found most end up at he same gearing but some like to tinker with it a bit. Seems pointless to only allow 4 bodies when there are so many cool GT bodies out there. we have a 750g minimum weight. 730g is for foam.

Correct!
Only difference to most other tracks is The Thunderdome runs the USGT Tour motor (red endbell), I believe the motor is still a little different than the regular red endbell motor because ours have to have the T etched in them. I am not sure but Paul or Dieter do something to the motor to tweak them.

Red end bell at ThunderDome. I’m switching back for couple weeks to practice for a race.

Where did ya'll come up with limiting the GT bodies?
