speaking of in car action.. whatever you do, don't race Virtual R/C from the in car perspective. talk about stomach stirring. they were right up there with my fastest times though lmao.

I've actually thought about doing that... Setting up an in-car cam from what would be the drivers perspective and using some VR goggles... Walk up and stand on the driver's stand facing in the wrong direction. Only problem with the idea is that when you watch those in car vids, you can't see the corners. There's not enough landscape to judge your braking and turn in points... You'd run straight into the boards all the time.

We did that a while ago in San Jose years back. This guy came to the track with VR goggles and a couple of touring cars. Really hard to drive! It was fun though.

Another thing that we did was put a camera in a Mini-Z Overland at the HobbyTown in Newark. We just looked at the TV and drove around the store bumping into customers and stuff. It was funny! But when you start going fast, that's when the crashes begin.

thats a pretty good video, bob.... looks great!

what i would like to see is an in-car camera pointed at the suspension. i think a lot could be learned from that kind of video....

Seen that on an 1/8 Rallycross car. Was ok, good over the big jumps

Personally I think racing from a camera would be rubbish. Just my opinion, but I think it would take the fun out of it. (sorry if im takin it too seriously )

the incar camera thing is being done. not sure where i seen it, if it was rc action or a nascar magazine but they had it set up like a arcade game. had rusty wallace racing other people. looked pretty neat. where the camera was at they cut the body so you could see better with the camera.

In-car driving would be difficult because you won't see the track on top view. You also won't see who's behind you unless they put another cam for rear viewing.

not sure how they did it but they did. its just like you are in the car of a video game. dont think u need to know who is behind you.

Then just call out, "passing ____ car" then you just give them the line. Easy stuff...

Having tried to drive around a track with just looking through the camera it was fun, but very hard to get the lines consistantly ( on any regular basis, if it occured it was more a fluke)

although I wouldn't mind seeing the incar view from some of the worlds drivers later this year, but the inside of the cars have to have a dash for sponsorship etc. to lmake it look more realistic
