I just picked up an XTi. I just need a parts list to change it from transverse to longitudinal.

if you have an xti it would have started life as a narrow chassis but you need to know if it's an xti that's been converted to transverse or an altered ego. The normal transverse can be run inline with the top deck and side spring brace with the cell cut out but the altered ego would need all the carbon changed.

You would need an original XTI chassis.
Please keep in mind that the Xti chassis only accepts a certain servo, the sanwa mini.

Would an Xti that's already converted to transverse be considered an Xti WC?

My friend, I know of at least five chassis that were "Xti" and made and marketed by CRC, not counting the aftermarket who made even more.

Xti stock chassis (inline)
Xti transverse chassis (PN 32580)
Xti Altered Ego chassis: PN 3326
Xti Black Aluminum Chassis 33571
Xti WC chassis PN 3357

And there was an Xti molded chassis (not sure if this was ever for sale)

There were also two lengths of rear pod plate, so you had about 20mm of play in the overall wheelbase you could put in the car, and 2 or 3 different pod top plates before they made the "low profile" rear slider pod.

Sufficiently confused yet?

I'd say so. Since you listed the part numbers for those revisions and mentioned the slider pod, that makes the one I have an Xti WC.

With that established, what do I need to do to make it a longitudinal layout so it accepts my extremely slightly longer lipos?

Are you trying to run an offroad 2S shorty lipo or something? I would recommend not doing so.

CRC offered a conversion kit to make the XTi a transverse battery instead on the inline configuration. I have one and will sell it for $30. PM me if interested.

All my packs are meant for onroad.

Well, I don't need a kit to go from inline to transverse, I need something to go from transverse back to inline.

There is a significant difference between a 2s pack that is the size of a 1s, and a 2s for other cars. You will be wasting your time trying to fit that massive battery in the pan car chassis, it is much taller and won't fit under the Xti shock mount.

Save yourself time and money, get a GT12 2s if you can. The difference in height in the batteries is 18 vs 25mm.

EDIT: Here is one of what you need:

I might just do that. I know the atom 2 is available, and I'm open to others. Suggestions?

I have the chassis (3258), the short links (3280) and the posts for the front shock mount (1737). I do not have the top deck for mounting the front of the shock (32581). I think I have a different upper deck that will work, but it isn't the original Xti part. Chassis $45, posts $5, links $5. If you do 2 cell, I have that post as well.

No, the WC has a shorter wheel base than the XTi. The WC is a small evolution from the Altered Ego.

So I run a 2 cell pack in my F1 that is the same height as a 1 cell and only 3mm longer. It is only 4600mah but for F1 that is plenty. There are 2 cell packs available that are the same size as a 1 cell but lower MAh.

I have good reason to think this isn't true. It's a much taller battery pack.
