Default Battery Charging

I just got a couple of new Amondo-Tech batteries, and was wondering if you guy's could give me a couple tips on maintaining them. I always discharge them fully with a lightbulb string I made before I charge them. I have a decent peak charger.

Is there a cool-down time you should give them after they are done charging before you put them to use? I know they get pretty hot.

Also, what state of charge should you keep them in when storing them, fully charged or discharged? Is there any special way to store them, besides in a cardboard box in my closet?

I'm very new to all this, so any help would be great.

Can you please be a little more specific, like what kind of charger are you using, the capacity of the cells you are using, and the make of the cells, GP, IB, IP, etc.

Yeah, sorry, I have 3600 MAH 7.2 volt 6 cell batteries made by amondo-tech.

The charger is a Hobbytech peak detection charger. It charges at 5 amps max fast charge, and 50-300 trickle. It automatically does the fast charge, then starts trickle.

Thanks for the help.
