Haha, good joke.
Marc is still with Tamiya and I doubt he will change to any other team in the near future.
He and the other TRF guys have arrived at the track yesterday but race begins just today. It seems Marc again has a Tamiya works mechanic.

Just talked to Joel, and he said "all" Japaneese and European are there, but no or few from US. Weather seems to be better later on, and there might be some rain also... He thought the track was quite small and tecnical, and predicted one-way.
But I guess they are getting the "worlds-feeling" so he was positive.

What about Brushless motors? Does any one of the top drives make use of these?

I just had a very short conversation with one of the racers at the track.

The layout is very technical and it will be difficult to be consistant. A lot of steering is required by the cars as well as stability through the tight esses.

As it is not a "power" track, for the time being they are focusing on set up and not motor performance.

Unfortunatelly he was too busy and cannot comment on who is most impressive for the time being, but it is still very early. Later in the afternoon I might have more info..

Just got off the phone with a racer at the track and latest info is that practice is not timed, thus no clear indication of who is on the pace until now.

Visiually the "usual suspects" looke very quick.
If I understood well the direction is anti-clockwise, meaning that the cars come out to the front straight from the right side of the track going towards the left side. This if you are looking from the driver's stand.

Hopefully I can get more detailed info later on, or maybe someone from the track might be kind enough to update us with more news..

Hello all!

Just finished with my car, for tommorow left final testing on the board and motor tunning.Anyway, as John said the usual suspects are fast (Masami, Hara, Reinhard, Leino etc). Huppo Honnigl is very fast/smooth with his Tamiya.

Power isn't much of an object since the track is VERY technical appart from the straight. Most fast guys use 8 or 7 turn motors. Brushless are alse been used with great success. Star 5 are here and I think Novak's 3.5. Very fast and no maintenance is the name of the game

I'm about to upload pictures taken here

More interesting photos will be taken tomorrow since was trainning day and there was no real time spying

Nick
