XRAY X4'22 Helpful tips & setups

Tips:

Installing the hex on the driveshaft - Make 100% sure you have the flat spot lined up on the axle with the cutout in the hex as shown in the manual. If you do not do this, it will make disassembly so much harder. The flat spot is there so you can fit a flathead screwdriver in between the shaft and the c-clip to pop it off when you want to remove the hex. Also, when removing the c-clip I would recommend pointing it down into your pit mat/towel so the clip does not go flying and disappear.

Assembling the upper arms - Make sure to grease the threads on the camber screw (302640). This will make assembly and camber adjustments much easier. Also, when adjusting camber you want to make sure you hold the upper arm so it does not twist while you turn the screw.

Droop - It is important to remove the shocks. All team setup sheets will show droop settings with shocks removed. Simply detaching them from the arm will do. This is a change from how we set droop in the past.

Setups:

**If the super mods on this forum were actually right, and handled things correctly, they would not have gone back and deleted all the posts to hide things

***And since they are in the deleting mood now, they might as well go ahead and just delete all the images of the setup sheet, as originally requested via private comms.

Oh, apparently you didn’t see the “new TLR 4WD Buggy” thread before the 22X-4 was officially acknowledged…

Clearly you're not a connoisseur of these XRAY announcement threads, this is quite tame so far. I'm anticipating things heating up when we get the teaser vids/pics with everybody's 2 cents worth of opinions. Expect the words "luxury" and "optimised" to be flung around like they're insults, as well as accusations of plagiarism by XRAY of every previous chassis and drivetrain concept ever invented.

Especially as it looks like they've probably redone the chassis layout completely. Oh the HUMANITY!

From what I have read in the last 5 pages, it's going to be a touring pan-car buggy.

Me thinks it's a crawler...

The X is for the links to the axles, when viewed from the underside they resemble a nice X patttern

the 4 is for four wheels (duh)

OR OR OR

a large-scale (for instance, 1:4, randomly of course) brushless runner. Losi desert-truck-style or something.

OR OR OR

a 4WS eXperimental drifter?

I dunno, really. Seriously, they're pretty much covering the whole spektrum already.

But all in all I'd be surprised if they released another DTM platform so "soon" after the last one, they have a few molds (arms, mostly...) to amortize, still.... something called T4 is current world champ and everyone recommends a T4 to pretty much anyone in the hobby as something that works all the time, so why lose that commercial power would be beyond me.

Then again, what do I know...

THEY will be... I like the "guess what the X4 will be" answer to the game, "a shaft-drive rally car"... I certainly won't buy it

I’m an Xray fan, and I get the luxury sentiment, what I can’t get over their insistence on using Facebook for their primary means of communicating and collaborating with their customers/users. I mean, in 2021 what self respecting adult still has a Facebook account?
