XRAY X4'22 Helpful tips & setups

Tips:

Installing the hex on the driveshaft - Make 100% sure you have the flat spot lined up on the axle with the cutout in the hex as shown in the manual. If you do not do this, it will make disassembly so much harder. The flat spot is there so you can fit a flathead screwdriver in between the shaft and the c-clip to pop it off when you want to remove the hex. Also, when removing the c-clip I would recommend pointing it down into your pit mat/towel so the clip does not go flying and disappear.

Assembling the upper arms - Make sure to grease the threads on the camber screw (302640). This will make assembly and camber adjustments much easier. Also, when adjusting camber you want to make sure you hold the upper arm so it does not twist while you turn the screw.

Droop - It is important to remove the shocks. All team setup sheets will show droop settings with shocks removed. Simply detaching them from the arm will do. This is a change from how we set droop in the past.

Setups:

**If the super mods on this forum were actually right, and handled things correctly, they would not have gone back and deleted all the posts to hide things

***And since they are in the deleting mood now, they might as well go ahead and just delete all the images of the setup sheet, as originally requested via private comms.

A FWD Touring Car is still a Touring Car.

Neither do I. This is even more entertaining than the usual T4 release five page horse puckey, because no-one is even sure that the X4 IS a touring car.

Carry on, I'm bored at work tonight

Of course the Xray X4 is the new touring car. Look at the naming standards for all the other kits, X12, X10, XB2, XB4, SCX, XB8, XB8E, XT8, XT8E, XT4, GTX8, GTXE, RX8, RX8E, X1. Everything has an "X", and since the only car offered with a 4 immediately following a letter was the T4, logic says that X4 is the new touring car, and one that is likely to be different and new enough that Xray decided it warranted dropping the "T" and getting in line with the current naming standard.

There are a ton of things it can be. Unless you work for or directly with XRAY you don't know for sure either.
Things we know for sure:
  • It will be called the X4
  • It will be made by XRAY.
Maybe's:
  • There might be a confirmation by one of the team drivers that it will have 4 wheels.
  • There might be a confirmation that the T4'22's SKUs exist already
Rumors:
  • Xray is working on a new Touring Car: This is a pretty much given, but will they change the name? Will they have two Touring Cars at the same time again?
  • Xray is working on a larger electric on road car 8th Scale something? PRO10?
Things to Consider:
  • Xray does not have a NoPrep Drag car which is a HUGE sector right now.
  • Xray does not have a Crawler which is a HUGE sector right now
  • Xray does not have a 24th scale micro car which is a pretty big sector right now

It might be a quadcopter. Quads are "X" shaped and have four motors. The wheels could be landing gear!
