XRAY X4'22 Helpful tips & setups

Tips:

Installing the hex on the driveshaft - Make 100% sure you have the flat spot lined up on the axle with the cutout in the hex as shown in the manual. If you do not do this, it will make disassembly so much harder. The flat spot is there so you can fit a flathead screwdriver in between the shaft and the c-clip to pop it off when you want to remove the hex. Also, when removing the c-clip I would recommend pointing it down into your pit mat/towel so the clip does not go flying and disappear.

Assembling the upper arms - Make sure to grease the threads on the camber screw (302640). This will make assembly and camber adjustments much easier. Also, when adjusting camber you want to make sure you hold the upper arm so it does not twist while you turn the screw.

Droop - It is important to remove the shocks. All team setup sheets will show droop settings with shocks removed. Simply detaching them from the arm will do. This is a change from how we set droop in the past.

Setups:

**If the super mods on this forum were actually right, and handled things correctly, they would not have gone back and deleted all the posts to hide things

***And since they are in the deleting mood now, they might as well go ahead and just delete all the images of the setup sheet, as originally requested via private comms.

legend has it that Xray got a bunch of startup costs picked up by the EU too... which helped. Let's even assume he never had to amortize his PPE in his P&L... Juraj is no slouch in doing business: https://www.teamxray.com/teamxray/ne...e5018ee5393685

Marketing is expensive for sure. But this is a small-scale operations in terms of throughput in the great scheme of things... these guys aren't selling hundreds of thousands of cars per year, the "luxury" arm of the hobby (as opposed to supermarket-grade RCcars) is rather small.

Net - yes, their cars are sold at a premium for sure. Yes, the "Luxury" marketing has been a running joke for years at most tracks I attend (at last they dropped the suits it seems...). Yes, there is no doubt that a $600 xray kit carries more marketing costs in this amount that an MTS kit. Yes, they have Alex and Bruno and a few others on the payroll... Still, I agree with sosidge that we are not talking supercar-in-Monaco money here...

interestingly, check out google street view for the T- you can see decent full-size cars but no Ferraris or Lambos either:
https://www.google.com/maps/place/K+...7!4d18.0622379

I want to see that X4 btw - looks like I was wrong in the end!

Maybe they should have spend a little bit more and make the car works in every configuration. Carbon is so flexible that the car is undrivable with something over 17.5...

Minimum salary in Slovakia is 580 euros. It could be more expensive than China, but they spare the shipping costs.

Who said that they remove the molded suspensions? You have information? Really not sure about that...

If the picture I’ve seen is of production parts, the arms are molded with carbon stiffener.

it’s no legend or secret. European Union grants for manufacturing in the eastern bloc is one of the “reasons” for brexit. Blokes like Farah whinging that the EU gives too much to the developing countries and they stole all the manufacturing jobs from the UK.

slovakia being relatively new to the EU and developing takes significant more than it contributes to the EU.

which is horseshit really, the EU stopped it going to China most likely. The UK would have had it move anyway.

Xray announced an X4 "first impressions" video to be released tomorrow. Sounds so lame...basically listening to paid Xray people hyping up the car.

It's a luxury way of saying, The team drivers are going to go over design changes of the car and say why it's an improvement.

The new suspension was already used at the last ETS race, so details could be seen and asked. It is a very interesting usage of material (mix).

Would you rather have them say nothing at all until it was ready for full reveal?

No different than the videos where Bruno/Alex/ et al talked about why the features of the T4 ‘21 were an improvement over the T4 ‘20.

Yeah, don't need 5-10 videos of teasers, but hey, that's just me.

Pretty excited about this. I just bought some awesomatix cars, but this definitely has my attention.
