Default 1/12 pan car

Hi, I have been looking to get into the 1/12 pan car class with intentions of running it on a large smooth asphalt track but have a couple questions having no experience with this class. First, how does the handling compare to 1/10 touring cars? Is it easier or harder to handle? Second, what car would you recommend for something decent with easy parts availability. Does not need to be the newest and greatest. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

I believe there is a 1/12 thread already.

At any rate, I can be of assistance here. I have been running a 1/12 pan car on asphalt for about six months and just won a state race with mine. Generally, the cars are glued to the track and definitely require much less maintenance than a 1/10 TC. I usually race two classes and decided to get into 1/12 because they require less wrenching on race day. I have more time for my 1/10 4wd TC now.

Run a ball diff on asphalt. FYI, I race/practice with mine on a prepped track.....

I would suggest a CRC CK25 Carpet Knife. Parts are readily available and it is a very popular car.

FYI, I would not have thought of this, but the cars are very very durable.
