i have picked up a lrp comp 07 and i am going to run it in a 1/12 stock(17.5) with a trinity duo motor. i am wondering if anybody is using these? are you changing the throttle profiles? if so to what on a open big track and a tight technical track?

I love the tc spec in my vta

i am having trouble with a lrp sphere comp tc that i just recently purchased used. i am using it with a x11-10.5. i am pretty sure the trouble is my fault but wanted to ask as i am new to electric and this is my first lrp. i had to change out the leads for the esc to the motor bc the leads on it were to short for my application. lets just say i had lots of trouble doing so. when i finally got it done and hooked to the motor, as soon as i put power to it the yellow led lights up and its stuck on low speed. i tried to hold the set button down and set the esc per the manual, but it just stays running with remote set at all neutral positions. i'm sure i messed it up, so anyone have an idea of about how much they cost to repair? thanks

Hey Jess,

I ran a friends 17.5 duo with my 07 comp. Had the motor set to the middle hole on the timing and the speed control settings were 2-8-1-1. Gear it around 2.85" to 2.9" and see how it runs. Should come in around 140 degs and will be a rocket from start to finish. If you run a faster motor like a 13.5 I would recommend turning the last setting (drag brake) up to 2. Have fun!!!

I just got an LRP Sphere Comp for around USD 110.00 used. I'm looking for a good 13.5 motor to go with it. Do you have any recommendations? I've tried the Nosram 13.5 Dragon but its a lot slower than brushed 23T we use in our area. Thanks.

If you can use an open (vented) motor, I would suggest the Trinity Duo 13.5. It requires cleaning out once in awhile to maintain its performance. Top performer.

If you want a closed (unvented) motor that does not require much maintenance, I would suggest the Hacker 13.5. Very good performance and low maintenance.

Yesterday at our club race, we had 2 guys running them Trinity 1.5 and they both had problems thermaling out for some reason. They also were thermaling out at 200 degrees when they should thermal at around 170 degrees...

I run the LRP Sphere Comp with the LRP Vector-11 13.5/17.5 and luv em!

Actually I'm not allowed to disclose the exact numbers, sorry! But since our software approach is different to anyone else, as far as I'm aware, you could not compare with settings on other speedos anyway.

As for the computer interface, such a thing is not planned for the near future.
Can you tell us if the timming advances as rpm or throttle position increases or is it just a fixed change in overall timming??

Can anyone give me some advice how to setup my car.

ESC LRP tc
Motor LRP stockspec X11 10,5 turns.

Previous season the gear ratio was ruled to 4.2
5 cell Sub-C and Rubber tires
The motor was warm but not hot ( 40 C )
powermode 8

This year the gear ratio is free ( motor still the 10.5 LRP X11 )

It is a large Tarmac track.

I think I try with gear ratio 3.6 at powermode 6
and try to keep the motor under 80 Celsius.
Has anyone other sugestions?

With a 13.5 in Sedan Foam, I would run my LRP Sphere TC on profile 3 or 4, Initial Brake on Setting 2, Automatic Brake on Setting 1.

Now - what are you running your 13.5 in for more accurate assistance?
