I donīt think so, you have to cut the wires. In the instructions you canīt find anything about this and also there is no plug you could remove.

open the case from the bottom and just unsolder the wires... just make sure you note where you unsoldered the wires..just in case you want to solder it back on...

Thanks guys. Was hoping there was some undocumented way to turn it off via setup rather than using a soldering iron and/or cutters which will probably void the warranty.

Cheers

I have the opportunity to get the LRP Competition 2007 in a trade deal. I have been reading that for touring cars a lot of people use the TC Spec instead. Will I notice a large difference by getting the Competition 2007? I am a novice racer just getting back into RC Touring Cars with brushless and lipos. I would love to have the latest and greatest equipment but want to trade my old stuff away as much as possible.

Is the Competition 2007 going to a good solution if I am unable to get the TC Spec?

It will be going in a Hara Edition w/ Max Amp 4000 Lipos. Motor is still undecided but will probably start with the 19t equivalent.

I think you need the TC Spec only if you want running very low wind BL motors like 3,5T. At our races you can see a lot of people using the Competition 2007 and even the older Competition. Regarding software/programming there is not much difference between TC spec and Competition 2007 but the TC spec is using a higher BEC voltage and has the cooling fan right from factory. But you can ad a fan also to the 2007.

Thanks for the info!

Where can I find a cooling fan system? I saw the LRP one (LRP82500) but cannot find it anywhere in the US. Is it available yet?

Hi,

I'd like to know if anybody else has had this problem with a normal sphere and perhaps what to do about it.
First the history, been driving a normal sphere with a 3 star for about 2 years in 4 cell 1/12th. Some time during winter I found the 3 star didnt have the punch it used to (first I thought magnet). But I tried my GTB and this was powering the motor just fine), left it in, sent in the sphere for repair.

Got it back 3 months later, winter season is over and no more 1/12th. The GTB died in May (still in for repairs) so I was back to 1/12th again.

Since I got it back, about 3 times a day (9 batteries or so) it just shuts down and goes to "default settings" -> forward/ reverse, radio settings all screwed up.
Yesterday I got an Orion motor, installed it, runs fine. It has a sintered rotor in it so I wanna disable the autobrake -> the orion is almost blocked, put on setting one, its heavier then just running loose but still too hard for a 1/12...

Anybody has an idea what could be the problem with this esc?? Cant send it in to LRP atm, It'll be gone for another 3 months and I'm not gonna buy a 3rd BL esc cause the other 2 are in for repairs.

Could this be a timing matter?? kinda doubt it, I guess braking in BL will be much the same as BR, they make a load on the coils thus it brakes. Not as important as knowing where the rotor is to fire the correct coil.
(when I'm disabling the brakes it should make an open circuit for all phases, not shorting them out -> guessing this)

Nevertheless, I'll give it a try cause I'm this desperate (its a 180Euro ESC ffs...).

I'll post back when I've tried it.

You should reduce timing even more on an Orion, GM or similar motor when using a LRP ESC. I think they have this also in the instructions. Correct timing is the B marking at the middle of the right soldertab. Using more timing will result in higher current draw and higher temperature.

Can anyone help me with a location of the userguide for the X11. I bought a second hand 4.5 and it feels really notchy when i turn it by hand (although ive been told thats probably because of the sintered rotor) but when i run it out of the car (wtihout a pinion) its really noisy and i can feel a fair amount of vibration while holding it.

I pulled off the ends and the bearings are smooth but i couldnt work out how to change the timing on it and didnt want to force anything on the motor. Its currently set at 2 degrees.

Any help would be appreciated
