5200mah is fine. I am running 2S-5000 packs I purchased off Amazon and they are fine for club races.

Have to love being able to use cheap batteries at least! One bad thing about larger scales..

I picked 3 sets of plastic outdrives and the rings. If it fails utterly...15$ is not breaking me. It has nonfront sway bar, do I need to look for a kit? I think the tc6 fits, and can get them at least

Thank y'all for answering my questions btw. It has been many years since I had to pester folks like this asking "newbie" questions about RC stuff.

For an entry level car, I would recommend the Xpress XQ-1s. Then if you wish to go full race, then the XQ-1 (full carbon, aluminum and mid-motor conversion available too). I've been reading about this car and watching videos of it as well. Very impressive and the price is very reasonable considering the quality parts and materials they used just like any other premium touring car.

XQ-1s ($99)

XQ-1 ($470)

+ mid motor conversion ($179)

= Beautiful!

Side by side Xray T4 2019 and XQ1

The window for setup and driving for TC are pretty small, and the mindset for it is to be as fast as possible within 5 minutes, having fun happens mostly in the pits. If you're all about having fun, you might consider running Tamiya's racing series. I'm running and racing TC and I don't find it fun, but the reason I do it is the CRAVE to go faster every run and work through minute details to gain an edge no matter how small.

There's really only one onroad track left within 1.5hrs of me, and they're obsessed with nitro for the most part, so looking in to what I can get LOL.

3racing and xpress make great entry level cars that are very competitive with the rest, cost anywhere from 100-150

The XQ1S is a great option, but at this point the XQ1 isn't worth recommending. It has been superceded by the XQ10.

Or just go for the XQ10 instead...

Don’t want to highjack this thread, but what motor do you guys recommend to get for the Sakura XI? Don’t want to start another thread if it’s related to it and may help the OP on his decision
17.5, 8.5, 21.5?
what would I expect from each motor?
i bought a 120amp ESC thinking for any of this motors
Don’t want to break any speed world record, but something that is going to give me speed if I want to, just to use on an empty parking lot

haven't been to the track in Houston. I'm good friends with the local shop here, but they don't stock much besides rtr basher kits, there's just no market for it

Just curious... the XQ1s or the sakura advance s6/4?

Might have a friend interested in racing with me locally, having a loner chassis, for them or other people, would help my cause.
