Default Question about battery voltage

Hi all,

I am a nitro guy, but I am curious. I see everyone asking what voltage batteries for sale are. What is the difference? I know it is important that the cells are all the same so they all discharge at the same rate and not reverse the weak cells, but is that it, or are other numbers important, and why? Anyone want to do a battery 101?

Josh

if u run stock you want high voltage.

whats high voltage mean? it means the voltage the battery is when it is put under load. in many cases either 30amps or 35amps.

higher voltage = more power

if written on the pack is rate 1.20volts.... that means the average voltage is 1.20volts when discharged from its peak to 0.9volts

When GP3300's were the main cell, really strong packs were in the 1.19 range, while good packs were in the 1.18's. Modified racing packs were higher runtime packs, but with 1.17 voltages. Now, we are spoiled, and get insane runtime with 1.205ish voltage. That seems to be the typical number. I haven't really seen anything above it, but not much below it, either.
