Doesn't Diggity Designs make a brace that is offset for balance like that? Seems like I saw someone with it, but doing a search I'm just seeing the ones that use the stock location.

Yeah they do. But they decide how far it goes out. When using the method I use, you can move it out as far as you want.

Ok when I am using the thunder lipo batteries, a diggity design tray, and added a fan on top of my mottor. The car weight is still 1360 grams I still need to add 60 grams. So the real question is where to add the weight!

I put my weights up front, in front of the diff, servo, and in front of the battery. Evenly of course.

I also do the same thing, I've noticed with a hard enough hit the battery will be pushed inward but this has only happened about 3 times since running a TC5 since June last year on a track thats mostly right hand corners.

I used to do this until I took a big hit on my pack and it got pushed into my belt which cut through the hard case. I then got a diggity battery tray and that hasnt happened since. My track has a lot of body rubbing and hacking so the car needs to be able to take hits from any side and keep going without the risk of parts shifting.

I'm with him. I have two TC5's, both with the Diggity offset lipo brace and can't say enough about it. I used tape while I was waiting for the first brace and the same thing happened to me, battery moved and got cut by the pinion, AND the belt took a shot. The last thing you want is to cook $1200. in car and electronics 'cause you took the cheap way out. They are only about $25 a piece.
I did however have to add about 28 grams to the outside edge of the battery with my old speedo, which was heavy. I havn't balanced the new car yet. As far as a lipo chassis check out this link http://www.exotekracing.com/PRODUCTS.html

I actually used everyting on the market the original diggity design bace, the associated brace, but the best one is the diggity version 2 it balances the car without adding any weight

Yeah, that's the one I meant, version 2, can't beat it. Although I have seen one that is adjustable so that you can actually angle it and set a different offset depending on your taste.

How does the Diggity Wide brace v2 mount to the stock chassis? Do you have to drill new holes in the chassis further towards the outside edge?
