do the tc5 racers tape their batteries in or are they using the battery strap? it looks like the strap will tweak the chassis when the thumb screws are tightend down. what's your thoughts on this?

I've seen batteries launched out of cars constantly with the battery strap where i race. I went to tape and it stopped happening to me

What changes did you make to the setup... I ran that today and had the same problem. I was great in the sweepers but in the tight corners it tended to be loose in and tight out. It didn't seem to want to turn from the center of the car. I'm using the sandard parts, not the hard.

not sure how close your setup is but if my car was doing that I would take about an eigth turn out of the rear and it would fix that

Hey guys, I'm looking to gear my tc5 for a novak 10.5 with lipo for rubber tire asphalt. I understand I'll want a fdr in the range of 4.5 to 5.5 (maybe even down to 4.0?). I'd like to run 64p gears, what size of spur do you guys recommend? I guess it could also be asked as, what's the smallest and largest spur/pinion combo that will still mesh in the motors range of positioning?

hey guys. I need some TC5 help. Well I have the setup that robk posted on my car. I run 19t with rubber tires on carpet. The only change that I made (and it was due to me not knowing any better) was that the wheel base was increased by 1 mm (put the wrong size washer in the front of the arm). Also changed to the aluminum 6 degree castor blocks (problems occured prior to switch as well).

Now I am having tire squeeling problems. About half way through my race, the tires start to squeel around turns. I use Jack the Ripper compound on the entire rear wheel and half of the inside wheel for the front. I am using RP30 tires. Is it a tire problem? Any setup changes that may help.

hey guys, I haven't been racing in a while, but want to get back into it. I race rubber on indoor super high grip asphalt (similar to rubber on carpet), should I switch to the ITF top deck and chassis or just run standard. Does anyone have a good setup.
thanks

100/44 is a 4.54, works great in mine, I run an 8.5 though.

For 13.5 I use a 96 tooth spur (64 pitch) with 36-48 tooth pinions (64 pitch also) I have a 96tooth, 100 and 104 tooth spurs.
