droop gauge is good too. It's probably a bit more accurate, but this way is quicker. You don't have to remove your tires.

What is the best way to make a spool out of the front diff? All the parts I needed came in except the spool and I want to race it Saturday at BCR.

this is the best way

3. With thin CA glue header card stock to one side of the diff rings. Cut them out so that one side of the ring is faced with paper.

4. Reassemble the diff with no diff balls and the paper side of the diff rings facing towards the pulley. The paper takes up the space normally occupied by the diff rings so the width of the spool is correct.

5. Adjust the Spool/Diff just like a diff. Full tight then back off 1/4 turn. This will allow the spool to slip and dissipate energy during crashes. It will NEVER slip while racing, only during crashes.

Making a diff into a spool is great because it can give if you crash.

I am not familiar with the TC5 but if the diff outputs are plastic this will not work. They just aren't strong enough. If the outputs are steel you are good to go.

You can make a spool out of the standard front diff.

1. Do not install diff balls
2. Assemble the diff as per instructions (except diff balls and grease on pulley)
3. Use Dremel sanding discs - mark out the size first, the outside diameter is correct, you just have to mark and cut out the inside diameter (making sure that the smooth side is facing the diff plates)
4. Tighten up diff fully
** Optional only: make sure outdrives are lined up with each other - use slots. The reason for this is that you can see how much your spool has moved after a crash, and readjust (retighten) if required.

I have run a spool like this since the car came out and have had no issues (ie. breakages or spool letting go).

Hope this helps.

- Leonard.

hi guys just got back from a long time off from racing..and the the tc5 is the one that caught my eyes because of the price and this is a new development of ae. . althought i was a little bit disapointed of the tc4 (just dont ask why).

just wanna know if tc4 parts are compatible with this.

has anybody race this car asphalt ,tight, mid - high traction track?

any best setups recommended? from the list of setups on the ae site?

any tips? i read about the o ring on the top deck.

thanx guys

A few of the diff parts are the same, and the shock springs. Thats about it.
It is a new car from the ground up and it is all metric.

Coz it's fun. I guess it's just our sense of humor... hard to explain really, but it's all done in gest. It all passes in general conversation.

I think it's kinda like the humor in that TV show "How I Met Your Mom" in a way, in some ways like the Simpsons and in some ways like Seinfeld. We have a running satire the whole time, and we are the stars of the show. I think that it helps us see the faults within ourselves plus it also lets us know that it doesn't matter to our mates.

I'm sure that guys in the States do it too and you would get it. I think that the word flaming might come as a bit serious. In our environment, it's pretty easy to know when the insults become serious. The language is the same, but the delivery is different.

Hello!

I want to buy me a TC5. The car will be used on carpet.

What kind of (usefull) tuning will I need?

Can I use the spring set from the TC3/TC4 or is there a new one for the TC5?

Thanks
