This TC5 is a dog Plain and simple.
Maybe you should consider a different car until your issues are addressed.

Hi,
What are the differances between the original TC5 and the TC5R?

Technology/optimization of a chassis improves year to year from aftermarket or new chassis releases by OEM. But I still believe these performance improvements pale in comparison to the driver skills and practice time that can be made. I think the TC5 is still very competitive, is it the latest, greatest chassis? No, but with a knowledgeable and practiced driver it can still win over the newer chassis.

Take for example what happened when comedian Eddie Griffith crashed the latest and greatest Ferrari Enzo into a wall a few years ago. Its all about the driver

Ran my TC5R in VTA for the first time this weekend. While not spectacular yet, potential is definitely there. The build went pretty good, little unsure of those shocks, but I'll get used to them.

The TC5R comes with thinner, more flexible chassis and top plate. It has a slipper spool up front instead of a plastic diff and aluminium diff outdrives in the rear instead of plastic. It also has softer kit springs, blue/silver I think, instead of the super hard red/copper that the original has.

I think thats it.

If you can get an original FT version, a spool and an ITF top deck for less than a TC5R I would get that, that is what I did anyway.

Regards

Neal

I have the ability to get a TC5R, but should I? I currently club race a TC4 and a TB03 Tamiya. I want to step up. Are the newer cars from Xray or any of the other manufacturers more advanced out of the box? If so which one?

Thanks
Jim
