I have a question about the spool assembling. In the manual it shows the diff nut and the 2 washers but no bearings. Is that correct and also when putting the pads in do you still use the bearings or not?

No diff balls , thrust balls are optional.

Are the thrust balls for the slipper spool included in the kit?

This would be so much easier if there was an option for center pulley to go from a 20t to a 23t, but guess that means there would be a problem with belt length...

Thanks for the feedback...
I "solved" this issue by going to a smaller spur gear, a 69T. This lets me run pinions from 32T through 36T. These give the following FDR's:

36T 3.83
35T 3.94
34T 4.06
33T 4.18
32T 4.31

These values work fine for indoor carpet with a 17.5BL motor. I tried running a 13.5, but even with the 32T pinion, I was geared too high, so I would've had to go to a 72T or 75T spur.

FYI, I got the 36T pinion from my LHS, RC+ in Salem, OR.

If you can't wait for your LHS to order them, you could try Stormer Hobbies. They have Robinson Racing black aluminum pro pinions in 48P from 37T to 47T in odd sizes, in stock:

Don't forget to put a little lock tight on it as well for double protection.

Grem and others - Thanks for the replies. Found pinions and spurs at horizon. They have teh 72t spur and odd size pinions up to about 47t, which should get me there. Appreciate the help.

Going to be perusing the posts to catch up on advice for setups and such. Need to find a couple of tenths per lap - dont we all

Hey Guys - have gone way back in posts but didn't see what I needed. Has anyone posted a good TC5R setup for running 17.5 stock, rubber tires, on med bite asphalt track? Generally using RP36 tires that work well on our track unless its really cold, then we run CS22. The box setup was pretty good, but need to find a little more mid and exit corner speed. Thanks for any replies.
