To think that the brains at AE thought that a 4wd off buggy won't make it in this market. Good to see a co. like JC concepts and even X Factory think and reap the rewards.

You don't have to wait. Just get a Xray/Tamiya.

Any news? At least knowing we're about 6 months, 2 months, 1 year out would be good to know.

Would be nice if the Macho-Insecurities and Inferiority-Complexes would go away and the thread could be a positive place for AE discussion. This is the best looking TC from associated yet. How innovative is it suppossed to be, electronic controlled damping or something. Geez! I had to post this after reading back a page or two...... craziness.

Nice car AE, I think they have a winner.

With Rick behind the wheel this car will be in the winners circle soon enough.

Barry,

Thank you for all the help and insight you gave AE on the TC5. Good luck with your ride.

Thanks

Not sure how that design would work on carpet, but it does well on offroad.

The only belt drive car I've even owned is an old HPI RS4 Sport. Not the greatest car, but a lot quieter than a shaft drive. However, I race but with a bit of a basher mentality. I love the durability of the TC3. If you ever run a demolition derby or figure 8 race, the TC3 is a tank. Also, if you ever have the chance to run a TC3 at a Velodrome track it is worth it to hear the shaft spinning a high rpm - 55mph+ and it sounds like a turbine. However, the limitations of the shaft drive with gearing choices do give belt drives an advantage.

For oval racing I'm going to stick with my TC3, but for on-road I might just have to pick up an Associated belt drive offering. In the end, I like that we have so many choices now.
You mean a belt drive car like the world renowned XRay FK04??

Saddle packs, mid motor (towards the rear, but centered in the chassis).

That car is extremely balance, and it doesn't matter what packs you use, because the weight is, well, balanced.

That car was a dream to drive, and I think it is still competitive. It was fast as heck if you drove it smooth, and could be just as or more fast if driven hard. The T2 seems to want to be driven a bit more soft and is a little less forgiving than the T1 platform, but overall the T2 has just a bit more potential.

in all due logic, end of the year would be a realistic time.
