It's not just good, it's awesome! I switched from an RDX, and I had been fast with the RDX but I found it too brittle. Once I got the TC5, my confidence went up immensly. It is very nice to drive and I haven't found any phantom tweek issues yet.

I find that you can really feel the adjustments that you make to it, too. It reacts very nicely to tuning changes. And it is very well equipped right from the factory.

Well I just got a LRP TC spec with the Vector 13.5. I run on a 74 x 40 carpet track with rubber tires. The info that came with the 13.5 said to gear at 7.5 on a small track and 5.5 on a large track. Anybody run this combo at a similar track? Just need a starting point. I have a 116t spur on there now.

I am going to try to run two cars one for mod 5.5 bl five cell and one for 13.5 bl six cell. Track is med to no grip asphalt (just blown off) on rubber or foams (running rubber).

Ok so I am between this car and the x ray. I will be doing a lot of club racing on carpet its similar to the track thats in the video above. Now do i need to get the new chassis for it when racing on carpet or will the stock one work fine? I will also be racing at competition hobbies in tuscon AZ on carpet so some please let me know.

the kit comes ready to go for foam/carpet racing....

for rubber tires....the top priority extras to think about would be the shock spring kit, the thinner chassis and topdeck(ITF), and a front spool and one-way...

For me the stock chassis and top plate worked just fine on the carpet with rubber tires. I would concentrate on springs, spool and one-way first before a chassis. Then maybe try a top deck and then the chassis but only if you feel like you need it.

whats the advantage of running a spool in the front on asphalt. Or would I be better off with a one-way.

Hi Brandon, Yeah just a bit of bad luck, or we'd have another TC5 in the top 10. I actually built the car a couple of days before the IIC and it certainly proved to be a top competitor right out of the box. Plus with the added bonus of having you and the rest of the AE guys there to help. Best $330 I've spent on RC.

Hi BlueSilver, I don't warm up my tires for my particular track, I just calculate the time that I sauce the tires. I did try tire warmers once and it caused the tires to warm up too fast towards mid race and bogged down the car through corners.

I use the Futaba 9550 servo.

Yes, just concentrate on the shocks and other set-ups first. Once you have a good baseline set up, than try the ITF chassis set.

You need a smaller spur. We are rolling out 1.6" - 1.64" on foams with the novak if that helps. You should need a bigger pinion with the LRP due to the larger rotor.
