Awesomatix Chassis Decoder - Differences and Generations

Is there a handy web page, chart or other reference that clearly lays out the difference between the various Awesomatix chassis and release order?

Interested in them but I can't find anything that clearly explains the differences between MMX, X, L, A, F . . and the various combinations of those etc

As far as I can gather I know:
A = Alloy chassis
F = Front Wheel Drive

What's the magic decoder ring for this naming convention?

Don't forget about PSS, FFG, etc. They like that a lot

Hey,
There isn't such a chart or list available (till this moment :ha:)
Below I try to list all versions and specs as best as possible to my knowlege :-)
Please note that Awesomatix updated kits during the period of existence very often, so there is the chance that some kits have/had different specs at same modell name.

Here should be a rather correct list of all models:
A700 - original shaft car (first ever)

A700L - updated shaft kit with narrow chassis for longitufinal motor layout
A700EX - updated shaft kit with wider chassis to allow transverse and longitudinal motor layout

A700 Evo - evolution stage of the A700L including the FFG1 ( from this stage on D2 Dampers and GD2 Diff in kit)
A700 EvoII - evolution stage of the A700 Evo including the FFG1.1 (alloy chassis version)
A700 EvoIIC - evolution stage of the A700 Evo including the FFG1.1 (carbon chassis version)
A700L2 - latest specs car (EvoII) without FFG set (carbon chassis) longitudinal motor layout
A700EX2 - latest specs car (EvoII) without FFG set (carbon chassis) longitudinal + transverse motor layout

A800 - first belt car kit (carbon chassis)
A800A - first belt car kit (soft alloy chassis)
A800AH - first belt car kit (hard alloy chassis)

A800X - updated belt kit (carbin chassis)
A800XA - updated belt kit (soft alloy chassis)
A800XAH - updated belt kit (hard alloy chassis)
A800X Evo - evolution stage of A800X (carbon chassis)
A800XA Evo - evolution stage of A800XA (soft alloy chassis)
A800XAH Evo - evolution stage of A800XAH (hard alloy chassis)
MMCX - first middle motor converion set for A800 models (carbon chassis)
MMCX-2 - updated middle motor converion set for A800 models (carbon chassis)
MMCX-A - updated middle motor conversion set for A800 models (alloy chassis)
A800FX - first Front-Wheel-Drive kit (carbon chassis)
A800FXA - first Front-Wheel-Drive kit (alloy chassis)
A800MMX - first mid motor kit (carbon chassis)
A800MMXA - first mid motor kit (alloy chassis)

thank you max, this is very useful.

Still, I was *this* close to make the switch from xray... I think the list above kinda moved that ship-jump just a bit further away :D

(my god... this is totally insane...)

Some interessting facts and side notes about all this:
--> Many parts of A800MMX (absolute latest model) are still same/similar/useable for A700 (very first ever model).
--> It was/is possible to upgrade the A700 (from first model on) via update parts step by step till A700 EvoII.
--> It was/is possible to upgrade the A800 (from first model on) via updated parts step by step till A800MMX.

I know some racers arround here which bought the very first A800 version, and upgraded always in small steps to later specs.
Some even have now an A800MMX by upgrading continuously - and didn't buy a new kit in between.

 I guess little pills are easier to swallow.....

Wow, it's worse than I ever imagined, haha. But it is cool that many parts are still interchangeable/upgradeable. Thanks for all who contributed sharing there in-depth knowledge of a really convoluted naming system.

I think it feels worst than it is.

1-drive shaft car (700)
2-belt car (800) (yearly major change with a 1/3 chassis options)
a-Carbon
b-aluminum
c-hard aluminum
3-front wheel drive car (800fx)
