I dont think he mean or said it is faster than the spool
I think what he meant was that the a12 gear diff allowed the use of standard spurs, so it was an advantage over the Xray gear diff that had to use special spurs.

It has never been slower than a spool for me. Car turns extremely well without the funny business that a spool can cause. Interestingly we don't run them stiff either. Mine has the O-rings removed and only enough oil to lubricate the gears. So it spins like the freest ball diff you ever had except it doesn't slip. A different way to make them turn.

So I finally decided to take the plunge into pan cars 1/12th scale after seeing this semi realistic class race a few times. My weapon of choice is a brand new but slightly altered Xray X12 2022 with custom front and rear bumper braces to accommodate a Ferrari 458 GT Body

I picked up a roche p12 2017 with a rebellion chassis for gt12. Iím running a hw 21.5 and the newer hw esc 1s and sjt rubber tires. My gearing is 70/44. Iím running on crc black carpet. Iíve leveled the front arms and shimmed them to the front. That was about as much tuning as I could find from the manual. Any ideas on what else I can do would be great.

So sweet! You should add the wing, but keep it clear to at least get the needed downforce. The diffuser is cool too, just don't know how effective it will be. Let us know if you can tell a difference with it on and off. Also, what body is that and is the diffuser 1/12 scale?

Snowbirds is running 1S/21.5 with the Scott Jakes rubber tires. Will be interesting to see how our resident curmudgeon Bullfrog and his "crew" handle it.

Probably going to want to lose that diffuser, it probably wont give you what you want as far as rotation. Also gonna want to get sjt tires or spec foams

Why doesn't he run 21.5 already . think they are testing out using the tires this weekend at Beachline Raceway!

Won't affect Bullfrog in the slightest. He and his crew have a formula that works and they will stick with it.
