At this point it doesn't even matter, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say he introduced it to Florida.

I just want him to stop yelling at us to get off his lawn when we weren't even in his yard to begin with.

Locally we are doing:
USGT motor
SJT rubber
750g
56/72 or 49/63 gearing
Open diff/spool
Open body
Breakout time, based on who shows up and what we agree on. This is what makes it the most fun for us.

Bullfrog - What will you do if the biggest race in Florida (the Snowbirds) runs rubber tire GT12? Will you race with us or will you be too busy posting on rctech?

Maybe we'll have GT12 rubber and GT12 foam.. another year or so and we can have 8 TC classes with 8 per class just like touring cars have become smh

The question wasn't directed at me.. I admire the persistence though. I was hoping we could focus on having a universal GT12 spec class that made sense for everyone, but we can keep giving bullfrog a hard time if it brings everyone joy 🤣

Go ahead -My statement is race what your local tracks support- In these times you need to keep them going otherwise you have a shelf queen. Simple it you race carpet or down here we race outdoors whatever floats your boat. Ya'll have a Merry Christmas and a Happier New Year.

Default 12GT

12th GT has become the biggest class in Southwest Ohio. We started with the SJT rubber tires but had lots of quality issues. We set up a foam class that took off well and we gave up on the SJT tires after not getting any responses or resolution. We run Reedy fixed timing 21.5, spec foam tires, 78 spur, 45 pinion, GT body. Gives everyone new something specific to buy.

All of the current spec tires are a 38 shore I believe, originally designed to work on ozite. I'd still like to see a spec foam that's 50-60 and rock hard like black used to be. Something hard enough to have to lift for corners instead of being wide open all race, be able to run them much bigger, and no dumbass glue.

Just to support the SJT thing. His tires have been improving over time. He recently began selling what is known as the Gen 3 version which improves front edge issues and has a wider rear that covers the entire rim. I have run a set of these to the rim without any issues. I just bolted them on the car, sauced and ran them. These were released at the Halloween Classic and were the tire at the Indoor Champs. If so inclined you might give them a try once more, up to you. But as a new product he needed field testing to find the issues. We at the Gate have walked with those issues and him during the process.

Between the Halloween classic and the indoor champs is what 3-4 weeks? And you burned through a set of set tires to the rim? How many runs by guess did this take? We’re you shaving them? Burning them in? Seems to be the aspect that the rubber tire was hinging on, longevity, is quickly being taken to the standard run style associated with foam

There were a lot of laps on them. Not just weekend race days but a pair of test days as well. No sanding or truing. It was the fronts only and that is the ones that go first. The camber was off a little to boot so blame that on me. Believe me at the level I run that would have been several sets of foams.

fair enough, that’s actual fair. Just struck me as odd, fair bit of laps though makes sense.
