Toxic-- That's funny -why because me and a few others down here started a newer 1/12th class- this whole discussion is about.. Without us, this thread would not be here! You want uniform rules ask the National organization(?) ROAR to get off their lazy rear end and do something for a change!!!!!Ask yourself this , when have they updated their Rule book? Have fun racing!

GT12 USA SPEC is the name of the thread correct? Maybe if you change the name of it to down here in Florida GT12 open we'll stop posting and create a new thread 🤷🏻‍♂️

Rubber tire Gt12
12th scale base rules width and battery
750 gram weight
50 gram body
Usgt 21.5 motor or house club 21.5 motor
Open gear
Open diff

Open gear or spec gear
spec gear is nice as it significantly narrows the variance between motors.

750 gram weight:
take a race ready 12th scale slap a bumper and gt12 body on its 750 grams.

50 gram body:
all the body's painted and cut on the body lines are 50 grams. scraped gt12 bodies are 35 grams.

Ball diff or spool
low grip you need a ball diff. Everything else spools work great...

Sigh...and replied this are why at least one person in this discussion thinks your attitude is toxic. A healthy attitude says, "Hey, here is how we do it in Florida. Let's find some common ground so perhaps this or something like it can be run elsewhere and we can see growth not just in Florida but where you are as well." What you're doing is "we did it this way and our way is the only way and you're wrong because you don't do it our way...WAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!" And then you dig your foxhole and hunker down.

I haven't started any classes my friend, never had a reason to. I'm capable of winning a trophy in the current classes without having to do that 🤣.. then again you didn't create a class either lol.

GT12 1s on SJTs with USGT spec motors seems to be gaining traction in my area (Southern Ontario Canada). The cars look awesome and racers are having fun.

Sounds great and makes sense, I'm curious how many people would want a heavy body weight rule. Something that last for months and can justify a nice paint job. 7 white cars and 3 yellow ones in the main is getting really old

I may be in the minority but slight increase in body weight and bigger increase in overall car weight would be nice to see.

Default MMR Pro-Lite

We have been running a version of this class since 2013.

Started on foam with open 21.5's, eventually we went to a handout 21.5 with spec gearing. But by far the best and closest racing we have seen is our current rule set with SJT tires.

Weight 730
Motor Motive USGT, Gearing 56/72 or 49/63
Must have functioning differential on the rear axle.
Body options: Bitty 720, Bitty lc3, Protoform Corvette
SJT Rubber Tires
Min ride ht 3mm

Just a comment on the diff vs. spool. We started with a diff only rule and found that guys just cranked it down. Because of the tires the diff is easier to drive, yes. Is the spool faster, sometimes. And now we have the A12-GD. Just to avoid headaches we have no rule on the rear axle setup.
