Ok. I have the makings of a two-sided flyer for you guys. Will get it out ASAP with the request for shops to retain for up to one year (based on input from other posters).

Hope this does something for you guys.

-Futaba 3PK radio
-Futaba servos and receivers in both vehicles
-Competition Electronics Charger
-Futaba Charger
-Brand new 4 day old laptop
-Numerous Trinity Motors and Batteries
-Novak speedo's in both vehicles
-All his tools, spare parts, clothes, etc.

If he packed his stuff like he normally does, it will all be in normal luggage bags you would use for clothes, just in case the culprit would be stupid enough to bring the stuff somewhere in the same baggage that it was in when stolen.

Good luck to all on getting the stuff back, hopefully the insurance will cover the loss.
Thanks Brandon.

Hmmmm...Guess I am now making a three-sided flyer tomorrow night.

Great that you included the transponder numbers.

Man, whoever jacked that truck got a hell of a take, and that's even if they didn't know what the RC stuff is worth.

Sadly, often times when people see stuff like this and don't know the value, it goes straight into a dumpster. They take the iPods, laptops, cash, PSPs, etc., and maybe even some of the RC electronics that look expensive, but all the boxes of tools, parts, that sort of thing...garbage. They don't know what it is, they don't care to sell it, they want stuff they can move quickly without working too hard.

But that said, there's always a chance they'll slip up somewhere. Although I've had cars broken into numerous times--often in places that were supposedly safe, even in really nice neighborhoods--and have never gotten anything back. I wouldn't blame the race for being in a crappy part of town, thieves will strike anywhere. For example, my girlfriend had her SUV jacked up parked in the street outside my townhouse, and we are in an extremely low-crime area. You never know when and where it might happen.

Bill,

Transponder for Swanson's ride is 3449173, and I think Steve posted his already.

I know Doug Hay had talked about implementing a stolen transponder list in RC Scoring Pro a while back. Then, if a transponder ever pops up from a database of stolen transponders, it would notify the race director. Maybe this would be a good time to implement that feature, and I can do the same on LiveRC. I know I would sure like to get my cars back that I had stolen in Italy this sumer, along with all the other people around the world that had stuff jacked. Seems like personal transponders are the only way to electronically detect if the stuff re-appears anywhere ever again.

What the heck. Got Andrew's and Billy's descriptions onto the second side of the flyer.

Andrew, please check for any transponder numbers you can provide. I would think that Ruben has at least the one(s) you used at Stockton for the Nats.

Sincerely sorry that this happened to you in NorCal...

Now, to find a list of all the r/c oriented hobby shops in NorCal.

Brandon,

Thanks for Andrew's transponder number.

Doug Hay and I shared a room at the hotel this week. Great thought! Doug is The Man.

Just the thought of having custom made stuff and obscure tools that are one of a kind stolen makes me cringe! I wouldnt be able to race again if all my stuff was stolen. If anything it would be a while before I got back to racing.

Atleast you have sponsors that will help you get back on your feet. It still sucks being violated and having to restock on everything. Man what a pain in the ass these guys create when they steal. I feel for you guys. Iam sure everyone will be on the look out for the stuff.

You guys should check out any pawn shops in the area where they found the truck, also by the track. Thieves useually live close to where they drop off or dump the stolen car. Take a parimeter of 5 miles around the site , you might get lucky.

Good luck guys!
