Default Gearing

I think most of the people are finding .95-1.05 as the prefered rollout for the motor, sorry don't know what that comes out to in final drive ratio.

I was running this Komodo motor for the first time yesterday. 1st qualifier was okay. The motor was running. It was hot but not superhot. 2nd qualifier, the car sat on the grid, can't move. Pushed the car because I thought it might be a rock stuck in it. Starting tone sounded, the car took a second to take off. Speed was like the 1st qualifier but started to slowed down until it does not run anymore. Tried again with a newly charged pack, still doing the same thing. Frustrated because my Monster motor was doing the same thing. Any idea on what is going on? Any feedback is appreciated.

I'm pretty sure you have a hung brush problem...
When the car slows down next time dont turn' it off just move the brush by grabbing the shunts couple of times against the springs and try again.
When replacing brushes, make sure your brushes can move free in the brush hood...

Or your speedo needs to be reset... I have had this happen a few times with my Q2 speedo.. But good as new with a reset of the system...

After taking out the Komodo and putting a Camelion in, the car ran fine.

This exact thing happend to me. You were over geared and burned the faces of your brushes. If you look at the face of your brushes they will be black.

Replace the brushes, gear down and you will be back in business. You might want to fet your magnets zapped too.

Hey, at least he actually used search instead of starting a whole new thread.

As for esc's. Old brushed motor speedo's are a dime a dozen on the used market. Just find an older Novak, Tekin or LRP for cheap.
