sup guys i just finished putting my kit together with so much headache! i stripped lots of screws coz the holes were a little small, really bad fitting i got some blisters on my fingers trying to tighten this things. the damage so far are, screws and the knuckle arm. i strippped the hole where the little screw holds the hinge pin. right now im looking towards getting a titanium screw set and hopefully my last screw set!..

should i use the optional solid-spool front differentiall? or the overdrive/underdrive pulley? right now im using solid spool front diff. with overdrive. what u guys think?

what type opf surface are you racing on????that would decide it...but i would not use the smaller pully.......

high bite asphalt. im using the small pulley up front. its the overdrive setup.

It's important that you use the tapping screw on all of the chassis and bulkhead holes before screwing in the steel screws, otherwise you will definitely see some stripping, no matter how careful you are.

the tap is not included in the kit. what size of tap i should use?

yes it is- you have to read the instructions to see that the tap screw is the gold colored allen head cap screw.

I usually use an electric screwdriver or cordless drill but NEVER screw the tap all the way in with the drill. Just until it gets close. Do the rest by hand.

You can also use some of that white silicone after tapping the hole to get the screw to go in easier. About the only place for that is on the small button head screws that can strip the allen easily. :D

The tap is included in all Losi graphite kits, it is always in the first bag with the tools. Usually it contains a few allen wrenches, the tap screw, and with some kits a graphite nut driver.

It's a standard 4-40 size tap screw.

Also, if you don't have a good allen wrench set make the investment. You can get a set if 6 Integy wrenches for $29.

No problems with mine except that they game me plastic low roll center blocks instead of graphite ones. Guess it was one of the first kits or something....

I just got my kit last night, it's not even close to finished yet, but so far everything's going great. I've got a real 4-40 tap that I always use when building kits. It really makes life easier! The only problem I've had so far was my spur was warped very, very bad, but I really didn't care since the car came with a 48pitch spur and I run 64.

Robinson Racing would make an absolute machined spur gear for the XXX-S.

Best bet is to get the spur gear adaptor that allows you to use standard spur gears.

I don't have any problems with my Trinity adaptor.

I put my xxxs plus together about a week ago,now I need to put all my radio gear in it,speed controler I got for it is a gm v12xc,any good?servo is an airtronics 94357,over kill?xxtra reciever. :nod:
