I've not built a Tamiya since the m07. This model excites me. I used to run an F201 heavily and as others have noted there are similarities. Trying to think back to all the mods I made on the f201 and curious to see if they will be compatible or even necessary. I remember doing extensive work to the rocker arms and the front arms to gearbox attaching points. Rocker arms for smoothness and front arm points for durability. At least I won't have to worry about making wheel adapters as this E1 uses TC wheels.
I think I'm going to wait to see what shakes out with the pro and R versions.

Don't see this car having class growth like Euro Truck. This kit will probably be around $ 300.00 here in the US and unless they make it a can't touch spec class, by the time you put decent screws (hex instead of phillips and why not aluminum / titanium) then eventually the aluminum shocks, aluminum rocker arms, aluminum steering, a real motor mount with heat sink, carbon reinforced tub, arms and braces, universal cvd's, heavy duty drive shafts..... you will have a $ 600.00 RC car that probably can't handle more than a 21.5 or 17.5 motor. Looks to be a very expensive niche toy car.

And please develop a TCS aspect: while this car can play with others, a spec class with a Tamiya esc, a Tamiya motor, and a set of Tamiya tires on Tamiya wheels WILL be popular in this day and age

I cannot imagine that Tamiya develops a new chassis that won't be capable to host their own electronics.

Though I agree with your reasoning.

Impressed the kit includes Philips head taps for each of the screws(sold seperatly)
But seriously, maybe less precision equals more fun sometimes.
Why so serious!
