Santa came early this year
Time to pimp out the old S64 with some new bling. Really liking the wire/plug less esc, makes it super easy to swab between cars while keeping the wiring short and clean.

Finally found an afternoon off to finish assembling the s64. Box stock apart from ssk’s and steel outdrive spool.

No real issues. Someone here helped me regarding the 3mm ssk bearings and from reading this thread I was prepared for the fiddly spurgear assembly so took my time there. If anything the swaybar lockers ticked me off for a while, but operate freely now.

All in all without having known what to expect I’m amazed regarding fit&finish on this 90$ kit. And hey I could even fit my shorties without issues in this one.

Looking forward to giving it a go next trackday. And while I bought a proper touring body as well, this one was irresistible.

And some tamiya wing posts (10115245). Body strengthened from the inside with thick extra lexan around mounting points. Held up fine for a roll yesterday (large asphalt track). Now just need to work on that massive understeer!

Default New car

I have joined the list of S64 owners.
Although I have been and will be continuing to race my AE TC3, this is my first new in box touring car build since my Team Losi Street Weapon ~1998
Thanks RaceVTA.com you finally broke me down into getting one👍

That would destroy the juvenile look I’ve got going here. Did put a sticker on it though, and some 20k in the rear diff. Should loosen the rear up, If not, scissors meets wing and buy a set of springs.

Less rear toe will free it up, also softer front or harder rear spring and loose the front sway bar.

Q to those that managed to stiffen up the chassis flex.

I'm at the point where I have ok steering, don't want more weight transfer back and forth and can power out of corners in a reasonably predictable way. However, "reasonably" is also my issue.

Would a stiffer chassis (less flex) give more predictability out of corners, or do the opposite and just remove grip overall. Trying to reach a setup that suits my hamfisted (aggressive) driving style and am rather ok with both current roll center and spring setup.

Mod, large asphalt track with good grip.
