So which is better, the apple or the orange?

If you want to drink some orange juice maybe apples are not the best choice? Same thing with apple pie... does not work really well with oranges. So, be careful and watch out for pears.

I'm going way out on a limb here and saying the X20 is better than the 748E

I've both of them. That's absolutely not the same.

X20 is a touring car chassis. It is made for 2s LiPO, reasonable brushless motors. It will endure a 4.5T but you will have to do a lot of maintenance because the parts will wear quite fast, especially around the transmission.

The 748e is the electric version of a foam nitro car. Running it in 2S is possible but it is designed to endure a lot of power, 4.5T won't be a problem, as the transmission is heavier. 2s 4.5T with timing is hard to achieve as it is becoming very hot around 3 minutes with a lola body and foam tyres. The best compromise I got is to use a 3S with a XR10 Pro and a 8.5T (which is the limit at 11.1V). Even with a lot of timing it is smooth and fast, a weapon.

Again the 748e is a foam car, using it with rubber tyres is useless, the driving style isn't the same neither. If you want to go really fast (and this car is not designed to be slow), you will have to powerslide. That put aside, it is a monster.

Ok bad quality video, but you will see it powersliding (when the driver follows lol)
