i bought a fan that was mounts on my motor. the question i have is how can i wire it? can i run it off my motor where the wires are at?

Mine plugs into the receiver.............................I have seen some guys put alligator clips on the wires and hook it to the battery just before running.

i bought mine from team integy and didnt seem like it had a way to plug into the receiver. i rather have it plug in there then have to solder on there though.

i got a fan and it doesnt work with my mod motor, the magnets are too strong

I have a fan on my motor. I soldered the lead wires to the speed control so the fan gets 7.2 volts, and put a switch in one of the wires. I can turn the fan on separately from the car, and leave it on after the car is turned off. I'm using the Novak fan.

I soldered mine straight to the corally plugs used for the battery. I did this for two reasons:

- 7.2V from battery
- AARCMCC (Australian affiliation body) rules state that fans have to be run off the battery and not the receiver.

If you just solder the leads to the speed control it accomplishes the same thing. I would thing soldering to the ESC would be much simpler as you wouldn't have to deal with the wires moving around, etc.

I don't like soldering things direct to the ESC, I'm always a bit worried about melting the case etc. As for the wires moving around, I have the fan wires cable-tried to the battery wires, so they don't move at all.

You could but the fan wouldn't run all of the time. For example, with the car is stationary (0% throttle) the fan would also be stationary. It would be more efficient to attach the fan to the battery wires or to the receiver.

Just got a 3 racing fan. Is the air suspossed to be blowing into the motor or sucking the hot air Away from the motor. Mine is sucking the air away from the motor. when i try to reverse the leads the fan will not spin
any thoughts?

Who makes motor mounted fans? Are there any that mount onto the enbell using long screws of something like that?

there is a few companies that make motor mounted fans. 3racing, integy, reedy, and the popular one cool can fans(believe that is how it is spelled). has one they also make them that mount on the motor. not sure how though. seen a few people do it.
