Yes, I believe it is pinned. Not sure if there are many other clamping spool designs out there.

Had a chance to run my icon 2 this past Wednesday for some practice and my first impression was holy crap this thing is fast. This is my first F1 experience. In each of my three runs I was able to get faster than the last. Iím really looking forward to seeing how much progress I can make with this car and learning more about how to setup it up

Curious if the schumacher Icon front springs have documented rates. Not just color and stating that a spring is medium or hard, I'm looking for gf/mm numbers so I can compare them to other manufacturers springs. In my experience, I have noticed that the schumacher front springs collapse fairly easy. Maybe it is easier to ask what springs from CRC, XRAY, and ROCHE has comparable springs to Schumacher's Gold, Green, and Silver. Thanks all.

I'm using Xray Front springs, not because of the rated forces of the springs but because they offer softer springs than even the softest spring from Schumacher.

But in my experience the softest schumacher is like the 3.5 Xray spring or even a little bit harder. Also the Schuamcher Springs don't last as long as the Xray springs in my experience.

MAybe you can measure it yourself with a digital scale and a caliper. For touring cars I measure the height of the spring uncompressed. Then subtract this amount by 10mm and lock the caliper on that number. Next put the spring on a digital scale with fine increments and push down until the caliper hits the scale. You then have the kg/10mm and can compare that to your other springs. Not sure if all manufacturers measue it the same as i do but this is how i compare my springs under each other.

Got to race my icon2 today for my very first F1 race and it was a blast. I managed to finish 3rd. I got a lot of help and some good advice for my next time out. Iím using the gear diff and Iím going to try 20k as according to the race winner my car is diffing out a little. Something thatís not mentioned in the manual is how to tune the gear diff like what is the difference between using a thicker oil vs a thinner oil in terms of the handling of the car. He was able to match his fast lap with my icon2 that he got with his roche so Iím really looking forward to my next practice session on Wednesday. Thanks

The Montech 015 is my go-to front wing.

Had the opportunity to run my icon2 again this past Saturday and I lowered the gear diff oil from 20k to 10k and the car was still just as fast but a little more comfortable. I got a spool kit off eBay and I’m going to try it out on Wednesday. I also ordered some exotek tires to try. I’m really excited about this car. Everyone has said they’re impressed by how fast and flat the car is though the corners.

The spool kit is a little more comfortable than the gear diff for me on black carpet. I felt like I knew what the car would do when getting into and out of the corners. Unfortunately thereís not many setups available on the internet for this car and Iím learning 1/10 pan car settings as I go. I do have the mass dampener but I donít know what weight fluid to use. I think Iíll try 700 cst and go from there. Wish me luck

Another outing with my icon2 this past Sunday and Iím still enjoying this car. I mounted up a full set of exotek tires and the car is really starting to shine. I did have an issue with the front tires raising in a few corners but I reduced the caster and it stopped doing that. In fact I ran my fastest laps. 11.4 and a few 11.5.

This car is on my list to purchase soon. Glad to hear you are doing well on carpet. Mine would be run on carpet as well. What tires are you running?

There is a NIB box one in the for sale section right now. "Shameless Plug"
