Default Sweep versus Sorex Rubber Tires

The only race tires that has worked locally for years at our indoor grey carpet track has been the Sorex 28R. The version sold by Schumacher with the black insert was the last incarnation to work well but has since been discontinued. My local Greathobbies shop carries the Sweep QTS28 Real Green Premounted tires for $40 CAN plus the taxes, but I have zero experience with this brand and I have never known any local racer to use them. Some opt for the Jaco greens, but these too are not available locally.

Does anyone have any real world experience with the Sweep QTS28 Real Green Premounted tires as compared to the Sorex 28R? Love to hear how your experience was.

What do you mean Discountinued? Still on Schumachers Website. Supposed to be restocked in by End of March as Team Sorex had some issues.
Great Hobbies dropped or lost Schumacher.

Ordering tires from the UK is not cost effective for me. GH has the Sweeps in stock locally and I am looking for constructive feedback. Do you have any?

Not as good as Sorex, they were slower then Sorex. I also found that they were not as consistent from one package to another.
If you can find them the Rush 30 is almost as good as the Sorex.

Sweep 28s I'd never found too good on grey carpet
currently though I'm running Volante 28s if you can get them. I think they're maybe a little harder than the sorex but I think they're a good option if sorex aren't a available

Local shops carry almost nothing for sedan racing anymore, and getting anything now is almost impossible.

We used to use them on grey in Kingston Steve. Sweeps are good but more prone to ring of death compared to Schumacher sorex. They are worth a shot at that price for sure.

Iíve used the sweep 32 blues with decent success on grey rug. The 32 blacks are not very good in grey. Iíve never tried the sweep 28ís tho.
for what itís worth, thereís a couple guys using the r1 28ís with good pace and Iíve found the r1 32ís to be almost as fast as the sorex 28ís without having to reglue the bead every 3 runs
