Default Simple green

Do you guys use simple green as pre tire prep then use traction compound ? Do you leave it on over night? Is there any tire prep you leave on over night? Do you use it as traction compound?

No. It cleans rubber fine, but it dries it out.

I use SXT to clean and treat, than a quick squirt of Tag body spray to keep it on.

And why would you do that? What will u do if your super prepeperd tyres set die on second run off the race day? I keep tyres preparation as simple as possibile so i can do it between runs.

Almost all tire compounds are just various forms of degreasers, much like Simple Green. They get the rubber really clean so it can stick properly for a few laps. The only tire compound I've heard recently of that actually soaks into the rubber and softens it permanently is made by TDK.

Put TDK on a sticker - say your setup board - and you’ll start to understand how it manages to soften the rubber.

it might be “non toxic” but it is still quite nasty stuff.

TDK works great. They have a new compound out. Only compound that is allowed and it works really great. Tires come off very clean.
